Rib Shack — Restaurant in San Bruno

I have grown quite tired of the usual around here. Either a legacy restaurant that may or may not actually be of the quality that earned its initial reputation, or a place with super expensive focused grouped atmosphere and no heart or soul.

I told my boyfriend, I want some real soul food. And this place had it! Brisket was exceptional, tender and flavorful. Ribs were great too but I filled up mostly on brisket before I got to them. The Mac Dre Mac N Cheese does the name justice. Can be easy to run up a bill but you get a lot of food for what you're paying, considering its all prepared for you with so much care. We will likely trim our expense next time by ordering less, but we just wanted to try different things. And it was very much worth it.

Good BBQ is hard to find. This spot is the ONLY real BBQ on the Peninsula. I have been to most any spot around the bay that claims to be BBQ, most aren't even real BBQ let alone any good.

I had the beef ribs, which are hard to find anywhere! Amazing. I will be back.
