Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in San Carlos

I enjoy peets enough and come here because its very close to my work. They have a good attitude here and the atmosphere is nice, chocolate croissants are great. Can't ask for much more

EXCEPT, they do not know coffee. Asking for blonde or lighter roast the manager on deck 'informed' me that blonde roasts are "just watered down and less flavorful versions of dark roast". I was appalled. Blonde coffee is a lighter roast procedure with (usually) higher caffeine content. Their medium is ok but too thick/grainy tasting conpared to what i was looking for, and I wanted something stronger without adding espresso shots. Blonde coffee is NOT 'less flavor' but has a subtler, less bitter 'robust coffee flavor' than dark roast has.

Today i asked for a blonde roast again and was told "no, thats starbucks" - i find this very odd and disappointing for a coffee shop.

I understand peets never made a trade deal for dank blonde roast beans but as a coffee enthusiast i find myself still wanting after...

Never ever, and I mean ever, not go here, this place is way too awesome.

These are absolutely terrific people. The current baristas and staff truly know how to make genuinely good and well crafted coffee. The service is top notch if you ask me, I think the service is fantastic. A welcoming vibe when you walk in, and an authentic, alternative and charismatic staff make all of the difference. I hope that the current staff that is providing great service as of recently get raises and that the current and new customers tip cash when they know that they are getting good coffee or great service or both. I hope to see more coffee shops with this kind of atmosphere and staffing more often.

This is my first choice location for atmosphere, and espesso coffee. However, I am now finding it harder every time to put up with what appears to be the same type of repetetive, boring music of a style that is completely out of kilter to anything the patrons are likely to enjoy. That music seems to have been repeated each time I visit over the past 4 weeks. .. It reminds me of the identical class/type of music that gyms pump out at much louder volume to gym patrons who nowadays have ear buds/phones, and their own music to drown out a music selection/volume not wanted by those gym patrons. I suggest the Peets music volume is fine but there needs to be a much greater music range and away from that currently in favour with the...
