Tea Hut absolutely swears the strawberry in their strawberry milk tea is not artificial, but I'm saying it definitely tastes 100% artificial. I love fruit, I've had every type you can imagine ripe and fresh from the stand all over the world, I eat berries literally by the pint and strawberries by the pound, and this swill sure as heck did not taste anything like fruit to me. If anything, it gave me a bit of a headache, tho I can't really be sure. It's false advertising, basically straight up lies about the drink's ingredients, perhaps not intentional but this place is in denial with whoever their source is. Well they're not going to be able to fool me. In addition, the shop either forgot to add the cheese cream I ordered or made it so dilute I couldn't recognize or remember the taste of it a few sips in. Overall the worst boba I've ever gotten, hands down, no question. Will never order from them again if I can avoid it. 2 stars only because others in my group believe their various drinks were made with real fruit, with fiber to...
Read moreNot sure how wrong you can go with boba tea. Tea Hut has a sleek interior and the cups come out solid. The only issue is that every drink is somewhat "off" and doesn't delight you. At this point we've tried the basic black milk tea, jasmine, oolong, Oreo, and even the passion-fruit-mango. They are all meh~ and none of them really feel like an "awesome" drink. I'm not sure whether they are not using whole milk, or enough tea, but every drink feels a bit bland and watered down. There's too much pulp in the passion-fruit-mango and the Oreo tasted like mud.
Perhaps the only saving grace is the black-sugar tea that comes in the regular size (at the last section of the menu). This probably is the only drink that feels wholesome enough to deserve a repeat.
Won't be returning any time soon. Just walk over to Boba Guys...
Read moreDelicious quality boba shop in downtown San Carlos. The coconut drinks series (coco melon, coco mango, etc) are soooo refreshing and tasty, and not too sweet. I love coconut and watermelon and whoever came up with this combo, it's the best (to me)! Options are customizable and there's a tablet to order. I haven't tried beyond the cocos but there are a good amount of unique drinks and toppings options that I will be returning to try. Street parking can be a bit of a challenge since the downtown area is closed off from cars. I suggest the residential area a block behind, or wheeler plaza...
