My husband and I came here on a Wednesday late morning. We walked in about 11 and waited only a few minutes to be seated. Debbie was our waitress and she was bubbly, kind, patient even though she was obviously busy, and attentive. They were already out of biscuits which was a bummer but it was almost noon so that’s understandable. They must be delicious. I got hot water with lemon and my husband got coffee. Their coffee is really good and free flowing. The hot water refills were also flowing which was a wonderful surprise. The cream on the table was chilled. I got a Belgium waffle and my husband got the monte cristo. His was grilled not fried, which he really liked. He said it was sweet and salty and so delicious. It came with a potato pancake which was AMAZING. I highly recommend opting for this as your breakfast side. It’s like hash browns but with egg, Parmesan cheese, scallions, and just the right amount of seasoning. Just delicious. The raspberry preserves served with it was also divine. Probably housemade. My waffle was really yummy. Just crunchy enough, soft and fluffy, slightly chewy. Just delicious. Service was quick and kind. Food really really good. We were surprised and will definitely be back. YUM!

Hands down the best experience me and my family have ever had at ANY Diner. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is nostalgic, and the service is fast and super friendly. The owner (Mario) is the greatest and is always making sure his customers are happy. I can't say enough about this place and we are very lucky to have the best experience every time. I hope they stick around forever ❤ UPDATE ALERT!!! This place took a real nose dive ever since the new ownership. They're noticeably not as busy anymore, which is good for us, but not good for the restaurant. They used to have (in my opinion) the best chorizo burrito and beans. Even better than a lot of Mexican restaurants. Now it's just like everyone else's, just meh. So far, I've only had this dish, but I feel we won't be back for a long while. Sucks when they change something that was already successful. Oh, well. It's time to find a new place to eat on weekends. Just to be clear. The service is still great, but the food is not as good.

Pros: The food feels really homemade and the biscuits are amazing. You get a solid amount of food. The service is fast, albeit impersonal. (I couldn't care less about friendliness, I just want efficiency). Cons: It's too much for food I could make. I wish there were half star ratings as this would be a 3.5. I usually reserve 4 stars for places I would go out of my way to visit and 5 stars for great-for-the-price food. I had the vege scrambler. The eggs and veges were about right. It was made well enough, but it's also something I could do. If food is going to be $12, it should be something I can't do as I infrequently make scrambled eggs. If this were a bit cheaper, I would regularly come here. The potatoes didn't have too much seasoning and were just potato-y. Not bland, per se. Better than Hash House, but not as good as The Cottage. If you're in the area, try it, but it's not worth going out of your way for. It's also too expensive to go to regularly for normal wage earners.

I ate here for the first time today, and let me tell you, this is some of the best food I have ever had at some of the lowest prices in San Diego.

I have never been just gobsmacked by the speed, efficiency, and sheer quality of service like I was this morning.

My waiter, Thomas, was so on top of things that I didn't even have time to ask for refills, as they were already coming out. He was so good, I had to call the manager Eddie over, and he was just as good as Thomas and the service. He told me they took over the location 3 years ago and that they have 3 more resteraunts in the San Diego area, if they're anything like this place, you'd be making a good decision going there too.

I had 3 meals worth of food between my fiancé and I, for less than $50. That is absolutely unheard of in the current economy.

The portions were absolutely Flinstonian as well, I expected them to bring out a rack of dinosaur ribs after they brought out an overflowing plate of biscuits and gravy for $6.50.

The atmosphere is straight out of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and if Guy Fieri is reading this, why haven't you come here yet?

In short, as a man from Iowa who knows good "stick to your ribs" food. This place even competes with the prices back home.

If you're in the market for breakfast, anywhere but here is a terrible decision and you're...

I've been eating here at least once per month with very few exceptions since 2006. The breakfast is large and served quickly. Their hash browns are exceptional as are the biscuits and grits - I understand grits are super easy, but I can't seem to find them properly made anywhere but Antique Row. I'm a big man with a vulgar sized appetite and I've left food on the plate many times because there's a lot of it. The plain old regular coffee is hot and plentiful and they have flavored options. Bacon and eggs, omelette, and pancakes are wonderful here. The prices are very reasonable. This place isn't a "cheap" place, it's an affordable family cafe. -I quite enjoy their hamburgers and chicken fried steak for lunch. The staff at Antique Row are wonderful and they work as a team, I feel valued and very much appreciated when I go there. I'm a regular, and they always remember who I am and smile, say welcome back, etc.. They are really kind and sweet, fast and accurate, friendly people. I don't even know their names...I should...
