This is by far one of my favorite ramen restaurants in all of San Diego, now only if there was parking! The poor parking plays no part in this review due to the area it is in. It is the price you pay. I have been to the three Tajima Ramen restaurants and this one is the best by far. The quality is far better here than the others and how the food is prepared. The staff is wonderful here and very nice. The restaurant is well kept and always being cleaned. They also have monthly specials which are great as well. Yes, sometime orders can take time to come out due to being a very busy restaurant, but they do have slow times of the day. Can't fix parking since space is and they didn't design the building or streets. Expecting food to be made exactly to your ideals is wanting to much. They are willing to work with you on how the food is made so just ask next time! March of 2019 has had the best monthly special yet! It is Curry Ramen! Update: The best ramen if the year so far is the Green Coconut Ramen (a.k.a Frankenstein Creation) in September/October of 2020. Update September 19th 2021: I am going back through all my reviews of restaurants to be more stringent and to compete my due diligence of each. I have set forth three rules that all restaurant will need to follow to get a three star rating. The three rules for restaurants is the keep it fresh, keep it clean, and keep it simple! Getting a four or five star will become harder, but not impossible! Why? Well, people rating poor restaurants as five stars when they are barely a two or three is commonplace in Google Maps and I would like to fix this problem.

Really amazing flavor here at this location I've tried two others and this one was pretty exceptional! I got the spicy ramen with pork extra green onions and it was just simply amazing! We also ordered some tempura brussels sprouts it came with the dipping sauce that was super delicious and the third side was fried chicken pieces which is served with spicy mayo and that was something new to the taste buds! My entire family enjoyed it we had a great time and the location is pretty nice inside even though it's kind of small. Parking was limited but it was much worth the hassle. I definitely would come back to this place and I recommend you guys to come try it out! The pork was super tender and tasty and is definitely the highlight of the meal! Vegetables are great but the broth is that much better! Come on down and see for yourself! I also cooled it off with the mango matcha refresher! Can't forget about the spicy garlic edamame and the cream cheese wontons served with sweet and sour sauce! The bomb! I went to three different locations when I was in San Diego for the whole week so these pictures are from two different locations.

I loved the food and the vibe. As my first time visiting North Park in San Diego, I was impressed by the livelihood of this neighborhood with a lot of cute restaurants and breweries around the corner! Me and some friends went to Tajima ramen and ended up seating outside! Even though it was cold the waiter promptly turned on the heaters which made the dinner much nicer. Food wise, we had the karaage and I had a creamy chicken ramen! The chicken was very tender and crispy and the ramen was smooth and boosting in flavor! (; The staff is helpful but in the beginning before we actually sat down they took a long while to clean up the tables or let us sit down, which was a bit unpleasant

Service is not great. They sat us down, with one menu (there was 3 of us), the hostess said she’d bring 2 more menus and never came back. No big deal, we shared the menu but then no one came to take our order for over 10 minutes. We finally asked someone if they could call our server, when he finally came, he only took our drink order even though we were ready to order food after almost 20 minutes of waiting. When he came to take our food order that’s when he finally told us they were out of the spicy ramen, coincidentally the one we wanted to order. So we had to choose something else on the spot, since we didn’t want him to leave again without our order. Ramen was good. We also shared the tempura Brussels sprouts and edamame, both good as well. This was my first time at Tajima North Park. One of my friends had been to another location before and she said their service was way better at the other location. I’ll probably come back to the North Park location since it’s the closest to me and hopefully they will have improved...
