Excellent authentic Indian dishes with a Wow factor! Covid-19 To Go order: We got the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Curry. Both were delicious with complex spices, tender melt in your mouth chicken, and just enough pepper heat to make them perfect. The dishes also included salads and naan. We will definitely return. Update: Got the 3 curry lunch special of Lamb Curry, Chicken Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala, with salad and naan. Everything was excellent. The Chicken Saag melted in my mouth. This is my favorite Indian restaurant. Update: Dined in and got the Chicken Curry and the Shrimp Masala. Both were very delicious. The naan and salad were fresh and also excellent. The entrees are a bit pricey, but worth it. Update: Got the 3 curry lunch special of Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala, with salad and naan. All 3 elicited a "WOW!". This is by far the best Indian restaurant in San Diego. The meat is so tender and the flavors are amazing. Everything is made to perfection. The prices have increased, but are still worth it. Update: Got two 3 curry lunch specials. The first with Mango Chicken Curry, Honey Lemon Chicken, and Chicken curry. The second with Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala. The Mango Chicken curry was borderline too sweet, but the others were all delicious. Update: Got the Shrimp Masala and the Fish Yellow Curry. The flavor of each was amazing. However for the prices, we expected a greater quantity of shrimp and fish in the entrees like at other restaurants. Update: Got two 3 curry lunch specials: Chicken Curry, Karahi Chicken, Chicken Dash; Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, Chicken Saag. Everything was excellent! Update: Got 3 curry dinner combos: Chicken Tikka kabob, Beef Ball Curry, Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Korma. Each time we try something new, it's excellent. This is definitely our favorite Indian restaurant. Update: Got a Mango Lassi drink, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, Chicken Saag, and the new Earth Ginger Chicken Curry. The Mango Lassi was made with ripe mango and was very good. All of the curries we're excellent as usual. However, the new Earth Ginger Chicken Curry was beyond Wow, it was amazing! It's our new favorite. Update: Arrived on Sunday at 11am and the door was locked, although the website said they open at 11am. Waited until 11:30am and still not open. Went to their sister restaurant Butcher N Cheese instead. Update: Got the 3 Curry Lunch Specials: 2 Green Chicken Curry, 2 Chicken Curry, 1 Chicken Tikka Masala, and 1 Karahi Chicken. They now have a chutney bar! Everything was excellent! Update: Got the Green Curry Chicken and the Earth Ginger Curry Chicken. Both were excellent, with a "Wow!". Update: Went for their 20th anniversary all day long buffet. As always, everything was excellent! Wishing them 30 more years!!! Update: Got the Green Curry Chicken and the Earth Ginger Curry Chicken; and the Ras Malai dessert. Everything was excellent. Update: Got Green Curry Chicken and Honey Lemon Chicken. The curry was excellent and the lemon chicken was very good. This continues to be our favorite...
Read moreOne of the finest in the San Diego area. This is our second visit to San Diego and we have tried in 8 days around 7 different diner places for Indian Food.
I should have taken the pictures but I happened to come both days after a day long running-around-my-daughter-at-theme-park-event that I had no energy what so ever. What I'll share is true to what I had and I even enjoy the great hospitality from there servers.
we were lucky that we didn't hit crowd time. 8pm was quite on Sunday and Monday night we visited. Had I lived here, due to the movie theater we would have had dinner before or after movie most times.
SAMOSAS - coming from the northern part of india and been in bay/California/some time in Boston, I've never eaten in 4yrs freshly cooked SAMOSAS on order. And on top they tasted yup. Both days.
I wanted to give 4 stars, but sometimes couple of things push it to 5 stars, Samosa being one of them.
The veg dishes we had, the cottage cheese dishes were how you will eat in India not the phony sweeten indian restaurants in other places. If one says indian spices is an essence of Indian food, put them right!!!
Chana Masala - both days we had. The first day the spice was less but the second day I couldn't eat it. It was spicy. If you like spicy indian you can ask them but generally avoid this dish or ask them to make it non spicy. Like an India toddler would eat.
The chutney bar what pushes them again to 5. It is something which I'm not fan with when I'm eating veg. I'm so sad that I was visiting when there is festival to avoid Non-Veg. But still the SAMOSAS and pakoras made it good enough to enjoy the chutney bar.
Now all the praise, will point of improvements
Naan - the edges are two fat. Again this is American way of Indian food may be because back home they are thinner and not fat like pizza base.
Pakora coating had chickpeas batter which had some weird flavor. I didn't ask as I was tired. May be check it or the oil cooked in.
Overall I'm coming back here to eat if during any further vacation to have...
