Update: 5.2.21 went back to give this place a second chance and still managed to fail again. Fried were under cooked, soggy and not salted. Ordered a bean burrito for my daughter and beans were not seasoned at all. Seriously how does a upscale taco shop not know how to make beans properly. If they are unable to properly seasoned beans because it's as basic as water and salt, there is no hope for their rest of their menu. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
Ordered carne asada burrito, bean burrito and fries. Both tortillas on the burritos ere not cooked all the way, so raw. The fries came out soggy with no color on them and not salted. The pico de gallo in the carne asada burrito was super wet making the burrito get extra soggy. Lastly the beans in the bean burrito tasted like canned beans. I really doubt the make most of their items in house. Would not be surprised if most items on menu come in packaged and already cooked. Total bill $18 for carne asada burrito, beam burrito, and...
Read moreBurros & Fries in the Clairemont Square is our "go to" place when Mexican Food calls. When nothing else will do, and quality is paramount, we head to Burros & Fries in the movie theatre's "restaurant row". The family restaurant has a super friendly staff, no matter if it's breakfast time, lunch and even dinner after the movies...as they are open till 10 pm during the week. The menu is large, the prices are fair and a salsa bar is fresh and stocked. I like a little beer with my tacos, which is available on tap and in bottles. Eat indoors or on the patio, at tables or in the courtyard. To-Go meals are packed up, but often don't make it out of the parking lot with our family! My husband and son have tried a variety of meals and combos, my order tends to be a la carte, but consistantly appealing and delicious. We frequent Burros & Fries at least weekly, and that will continue to be a simple solution to those Mexican food cravings,...I...
Read more1st time trying this place. I got here in the evening and they're conveniently next to Reading Cinemas. I'm glad they were open until 10pm while a lot of the other shops were closed. I ordered their steak & egg burrito and it was delicious. Not a lot of places offer steak & egg burrito--especially after breakfast time. That's a big plus for me and their restaurant is A rated. Their prices were reasonable and they have a few specials that were a good deal. I'm surprised they were not busy inside on a Saturday night, but I did see a lot of orders to go. The place was clean. They have tvs inside to watch while you eat. I'll...
