This Outback is inconsistent in both vegetables and steak, as well as cooking knowhow. I was a regular until the new franchise owner took over and now I will no longer go there due to consistent problems with food, service and personnel / management not doing a satisfactory job at fixing or resolving issues. 2 specific issues are they randomly change the side order vegetables when they are too expensive for them to purchase for the store which is just unheard of in other chains of stores. Like for instance brocolli, carrots, and califlower, changed to asparagus, and then to green beans. So the menu is always wrong. They also consistently undercook steak and then want you to immediately resolve it with the chefs by sending THAT steak back to be cooked more. I understand the concept. However this is uncomfortable and embarrasing and the steak never tastes right in a second cooking. Then they argue about not charging you for unacceptable food or service after waiting 15 more minutes for your recooked steak while your entire table eats without you! And this has happened to me several times since the changeover of owners/ management. I even gotten my steak back 10 minutes later still uncooked (pic included) Please, dont accept rude or arguementative behavior from the owner at this store. Or just dont go there. Ive also called Outback corporate for assistance because i would have liked to resolve this somehow, but they do not seem to return calls. I also gave the new owner a few chances to resolve this with me but she just argues for no reason. I will always miss eating here, and wish it was the same Outback ive gone to for almost 20 yrs. But it isnt the same so just go with no...
Read moreToday we ordered dinner to go for my husband’s birthday. We have eaten at the Clairemont location many times over the years and have had many good experiences in house and to go. Today was the most disappointing. I had the 9 ounce Filet - medium. It was almost raw - outside seared like tuna at a Japanese restaurant (I took photos). With my steak, I ordered a loaded baked potato and the Wedge salad (which they actually charge extra for). The Wedge was not like in the past - again I took photos. There were literally 2 bits of bacon which were inedible (hard tack?!) and a few specks of blue cheese, 2 slivers of onion and some over ripe grape tomatoes not even halved but scrimpy as they were cut into slivers (someone has a sharp knife). My husband ordered the Bloomin’ chicken which he said was ok, however, the sweet potato that was served with it was teensy - and he had ordered extra fixings for it that he could not use because it was so small (and he loves sweet potatoes). We realize these are “first world” problems However, it was an expensive meal and we feel ripped off! Even after sending all of this to corporate - after a full week - no response and no remedy! Still - NO RESPONSE from outback although we did follow through - at their request - and fill Out another complaint on their corporate website. Apparently, not only does the Clairemont Franchisee not care - but the company itself seems to not give a damn about its customers! UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I met with the manager (Paul Bauman) of this location today - after digital communications - and he gave us a re-do at his restaurant! He was responsive and understanding! Good...
Read moreUpdate: Lunch specials were great. We had a friendly server. I miss the days when the hostess would open the doors for people to walk in. They fixed the hook and feminine disposal in the women's restroom! Thank you! They may want to consider fixing the sink and paper towel dispenser because there are two sinks and two people can't squeeze in at the end of the area because of the paper towel dispenser. Plenty of free parking.
Reliably good. We came here for my folk's anniversary and told the hostess the occasion, but they didn't do anything special for it. It was busy and loud. If you are wearing hearing aids, it would be difficult to hear. I wish more thought was put into the acoustics. Our server was friendly. We especially liked the Bloomin' Shrimp. I liked the Wedge Salad with no onions because their onions are too strong. The bathroom was clean. I wish they would have some kind of hook for the purse in the handicapped stall in a reasonable place. They put it directly over the feminine napkin disposal which is well known to be one of the filthiest places in a bathroom. Why would a woman want her purse to sit directly on top of a box of bloody contents? At least have it next to it or on or next to the door....
