Buffalo wing star — Restaurant in San Diego

I’ve never really been a regular at places, but I’ve been finding myself at this place weekly for the last few months. That’s saying a lot too cause I live on Coronado island which is give or take a 20 minute drive. This place provides some of my all time favorite boneless wings. It’s funny seeing people in the comments complain about wait times here because yes, this place doesn’t pull boneless wings that have been sitting under a heat lamp for hours and quickly spray some sauce on and call it a day. I’ve never had these wings not taste like they are made to fresh to order. I’ve probably been here +10 times and wouldn’t say I’ve waited more then 10 minutes for my food. The sauces are unbeatable dog, I’ve been getting the Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan wings everytime ever since I first came in, those are the flavors the cashier recommended to me and they smack. Have had a hard time deviating from those. The wings vary in size but usually they are medium to HUGE. Feel like I’m always triggered by boneless wings at places looking like squirrel knuckles, but that is not a problem at this place. You never feel cheated for what you pay for. This place be giving me a whole chicken breast sometimes I swear. The price is more then reasonable as well. Final thing is staff is super dope, very chill and super nice. Great vibes too, always like coming and watching the games here. Don’t come here on vacation because then you are gonna be sitting back home in some cow town in Utah, mouth watering for some delicious buffalo wing star. Buffalo Wing Star has excellent food and a plethora of sauce options that anyone could find something on. We found this place a few years ago during COVID and would order to go or delivery quite often. They have decently priced meals and good quality food. We decided to visit for lunch in person and found plenty of parking either in the lot right in front with additional parking in back of the plaza. Service has been traditionally kind of hit or miss here. When we’ve called in orders we’ve had issues but in person it’s normally pretty reliable. Today we both ordered a Buffalo salad which comes with a ton of chicken on top tossed in your favorite sauce. They have a regular size and a large size. I can’t imagine what the large looks like because the regular is massive. Tip: if you can’t make up your mind on the sauce you can mix two together for a small up charge. Well, this was a big disappointment. The wife and I have had a craving wings and decided to try this place. I drove down and went inside and it looked clean and seemed to follow COVID-19 precautions. I placed my order and it took 20 minutes to finish my order. I feel like that's a long time for wings. The place was also obnoxiously loud with music. When I got my order I drove home and I was not happy with the wings. The "mango habanero" sauce was congealed and the teriyaki sesame was drowning in soup. The "mango habanero" I'm pretty sure was only buffalo. No mango or habanero. So they either gave me buffalo or their "mango habanero" isn't mango habanero. The teriyaki was also just straight soy sauce. Salty to the max. I had to use a strainer and drain my soggy wings. The carrots were also slimey. The only good thing was the ranch.
