Checked this place out recently for the first time. Food was pretty darn good. We shared Pane Fresco (great warm focaccia w seasoned butter) and Polpetto meatballs to start. Both were amazing. Ordered two pasta dishes, pretty good. Priced very well around $20, which is very appropriate. Had another Italian meal a month ago charging $35 for small portioned ravioli. Not here. This is how it should be. Great meal, not overpriced, and great service. As for interior, some nice modifications were made as they transitioned from Seventh House as far as decor. Love the floors here. Yet my girlfriend and I both noticed a similar thing....the lighting is way too bright! This was also our biggest complaint with Seventh House. Note to owner, just dim the lights. More table candles etc. Make it feel more cozy. Also, as we walked in, you are on total display for the place to see you...which feels kinda weird. Maybe a half wall with plants on top to create a more private entrance so everyone doesnt look up when you enter lol. Simple fixes and table locations could easily be shifted to accommodate this. Please go and try the food. I fully support this local, affordable, great italian food. we will be back, and hopefully someone installs a nice...
Read moreOur party of 2 ate at Cacio e Pepe on a very warm Saturday afternoon. This corner restaurant has a beautiful vibe inside. As usual with North Park restaurants, street parking only.
Environment: Inside has 2-4 person tables and a few 2 person tables outside. We opted for an outdoor table when we saw people inside fanning themselvesâ I donât think they have AC. The outdoor vibe was wonderful with the beautiful sunset. However once the sun set, all the bugs came out so we moved inside.
Food: BUCATINI CACIO E PEPE ($19.95) + add Black Truffle ($4): gotta get their signature! Very tasty and very filling, I recommend getting the black truffle as they give a generous amount
PAPPARDELLE RAGU ($22.95): wanted to also get a red sauce pasta and this one did not disappoint
CACIO E PEPE PIZZA ($18.95): gave a generous amount of prosciutto but this dish didnât wow me as much
LIMONCELLI MARTINI ($14.95): super good, came with a lemon popsicle inside the martini glass
TRES LECHES CAKE ($11.95): their version of it. Iâd skip this one.
Overall: Great location and pretty solid food. Just be wary if youâre coming on a particularly hot day. If youâre in the area, Iâd say itâs nice to try out...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Cacio E Pepe during the North Park music festival with a friend of mine. It's an unpretentious, well decorated, corner restaurant just off the beaten path in North Park. We walked in on a Saturday and were immediately seated on the outside patio. Our waitress Francesca was very nice and helped us through the menu with some of her recommendations. We ordered the artichoke to start. Two large pieces covered in a citrusy buttery white wine sauce hit the table and were gone immediately. For dinner my friend had the fettuccine and I had the cacio e pepe. The cacio e pepe had a nice creamy texture with just the right amount of pepper, not too too overpowering. The chicken fettuccine was properly done - creamy, aldente, and the chicken not dry. Although they were at half capacity, Francesca took the time to talk to us. We had a pleasant conversation, laughing and getting along. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and I...
