Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in San Diego

This is the first time I write a review for a business but I am furious that I believe people should be aware of this location!! First off I had just crossed the border after almost 2 hours and decided to get something before going home(it was on May 10th, 2023 at 3:40am). I arrive at this location which I have gone to many times but I noticed that it is a 24 hours open which in my opinion should not be open 24 hours🙄. I arrive through the drive-thru(since there is a sign that says 24 hour drive-thru).. the employee tells me “we are closed because we are on our break” I respond with okay “I’ll wait” she tells me rudely “well you are going to wait 30 minutes because we don’t get back until after 4:10am… my first thought wow a 30 minutes break not even working in healthcare(which I do) do we get 30 minutes breaks..lunches maybe but breaks I highly doubt. So I respond to this rude employee “no worries I’ll wait” and she sighs and responds aggressively “okay wait in the parking lot.” I asked her what was the difference of waiting right there in the drive-thru if there is no one and either way I’m going to have to go through the drive-thru again to order… she replies again but more aggressively “wait in the parking lot because either way you are going to have to wait 40 minutes” which in my mind I was thinking wow she is upping her break time. So at that moment I go to the parking lot and was there for about a minute when I just start thinking “this employee is going to spit in my food” so decided to leave. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. I went through all the other reviews to see if others have had the same experience and yes they have. Becoming aware that the owner of this franchise has not done anything about these kinds of situations is concerning. This location should not I repeat SHOULD NOT stay open 24 hours if the employees are just going to tell customers that they are on “break” , this is why the McDonald’s right next door was packed. And lastly if employees hate their job just QUIT and look for something more soothing to your life and work situation instead of treating customers with disrespect. I went inside and there wasn't another adult in site. All teenagers. Ok, no problem. They are all talking with friends, I honestly couldn't tell who worked there and who didn't. But then one asks me how I am going to pay as I am still looking at the menu. I said it didn't matter to me, and he proceeded to tell me that I was going to use a credit card and then turned around his monitor and turned his back to me to resume his conversation that couldn't wait. It took me 10min to order a sourdough and a milkshake, as this was not a consumer interface, rather a custom point of sale system that they send their own employees to be trained on how to use. Nobody offered to help me as I was obviously struggling, they just continued talking about sexual encounters and parties loud enough for everyone to hear. The employees in the kitchen were the only ones doing anything close to work. I am a business owner myself, and I would want to know if my employees were being so destructive to my company. I highly recommend that you check your cameras from last Saturday night. 4-6 people behind the counter, and not one helping a customer. Not even sure all of them were employees. If I could I would have given it no stars. This is the worst Carl's jr ever. Today at my visit I was treating my kids and their cousins so the order was some what big well the lady brings my order I count to make sure everyone has the right staff and see I am missing 6 items so I go let the them know politely that I'm missing these 6 items I even named them and the lady Guisell tells me I'm lying. I say mam everything is here how you brought to me and she still says no I gave you everything. Finally after a few words she gives me the items. But then on of my kids asked for a some bags she got really rude with my twelve year old and told her hold up let me double count and counts the paper bag then flicks them at my kid. Then my niece gets some soda and she tells her to stop because she knows her kind of people mind you my niece is only 10 years old .
