Eat Crispy Burger Convoy — Restaurant in San Diego

TLDR: Staff was acting very shady and treated us like criminals even though we could prove that we were in fact not , and just regular customers.

Long version: We decided to head here and try this place out. We placed our orders and were waiting at our table. Our friend got called over and was told her card was declined 5 minutes after paying. They asked for another form of payment and then said " On second thought, we just won't take your order". She came over and told us but we thought it was just a miscommunication; as we received our order, but hers was still not coming out.

Staff came by and then said "You're not welcome here ever again, get out of our store " . without any explanation . We had to ask why they were treating our party like this and their story was " Someone called us and said you had used their card to buy your food, so we refunded it" .

We tried to show the staff that the card was in our friends name ( As we had the physical card issued from the bank) and that the name on the card matched her drivers license, and that on the bank app the Restaurant had refunded her . Their only response was " No, that's just weird and we don't want anything to do with that, please leave."

We even called the bank and asked if there was unknown activity with that card, the representative said there was nothing wrong but we cancelled the card and got another re-issued just in case.

I will never go to this restaurant or any of its affiliate stores. I will make sure to inform others to avoid going...

SOOO GOOD!!! Decided to try Crispy Burger last night- seems like smash burgers are all the rage lately [and I'm not upset about it]. My husband and I love smash burgers so we were excited to check this place out being it's so close to us.

It did not disappoint at all! We ordered the Original Single Crispy burger, fries and onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Everything was fresh, delicious, and had the perfect amount of toppings. Not quite an in and out burger, but not quite a basic burger. A healthy combo of both with its own unique yummy qualities. Price was great for the quality and quantity of food. Extremely reasonable given current costs of most food places.

The onion rings were definitely 5 stars and the fries were super yummy too. The shake was sincerely the cherry on top- it was a true classic milkshake that reminded me of a good ol classic NY Diner milkshake.

The service was great and the people who worked there were super friendly and more than willing to help when we had an issue placing an order online [so we called the store instead].

As always this is my own way of rating places I visit for a meal. If the restaurant is clean and the staff is nice it’s 5 stars as long as the food is decent.

Thursday around 130pm July 10th.

Rolled up to the joint for an afternoon lunch and got the Bigger Better Mac Crispy Burger as a double and some crispy fry’s.

The gentleman that took my order was super rad … like genuinely nice. Not like put on an act in n out nice that some of them do.

Took about 10 minutes to get my food because the lunch rush probably had ended and tbh probably a few minutes too long as the burger patty was pretty dry. Bun wasn’t soggy… sauce was delicious and lettuce onions fresh. Hashbrown seemed lost in this burger and didn’t notice the cheese really.

The idea of the burger seems like it should be a freaking banger but it was just okay.

Service - 9.1 Atmosphere - 6.5(FastFood/Corporate/Chain Vibes) The Burger - 7.4 The Frys - 7.7 (Hot, Crispy nothing to complain about)

Would I go back… probably not. If I want a smash type burger I’m going...
