On Sunday (7/26), I order 2 Chorizo Sunrise Sandwiches and hash brown on the size with App. I arrived about 15min. to pick up my orders, it seems to be many customers were waiting to get their orders and I can see that they are slow. I waited another 20min., but I realized that some people who just arrived to pick up were getting their orders. I even asked the employee who delivers orders from inside and he told me that they are working on it, but didn’t get another 20min. I had to walk in and ask about my order. One of employee, seems to be manager named “Beto”, came over and told me that they didn’t have the six cheeses bagel that I ordered. Basically I was waiting outside for nothing and without any notice. I asked why he didn’t tell me coming outside. The only thing he was saying is that they have no way to contact me. I got really upset because the way he was telling me didn’t make any sense because I ordered from App that my name was on the order and they knew I was coming and waiting. SIMPLY he could come out and give me a notice. OR he could leave a simple note at the pick up area. He was just lazy and not thinking at all how to solve issues. I asked money back but at first he refused because I ordered from App that they have no right to give me my money back. I had to argue about it for a while to get refund with cash. I mean seriously. If he is the manager, that place is the trouble. How he can’t think about better serve and support customers easily especially in this situation. If he really cared about his job and get it done, he could think about how to support and make business better such as coming out and giving customers notice if there is any problems with orders. OR he could tell delivery employee to let customer know. Basically he did nothing. This isn’t the first time that had trouble with orders before. I ordered one 4 package breakfast burritos, after I arrived at home, I found out that I didn’t get what I wanted. I got 4 bagel burritos that we didn’t want. I had to go back to the store and told the employee. I found out that it wasn’t the mistake. They were out of breakfast burritos that they just gave me 4 bagel burritos which we didn’t want. They could just told me instead of giving me wrong food. Another time I ordered breakfast burritos again, but this time, they refused to give me salsa sauce because they added in the burritos. Based on description, salsa sauce should be separated but some reason they added in the burritos. I had to tell them that if the burritos heated it up, wouldn’t be the same taste and wouldn’t taste salsa sauce because it is hot. I finally got salsa sauce but I could hear talking each other about me behind my back. I didn’t want to argue anymore that I just walked away. I also go to Bernardo Height location. Whenever I get there to pickup food and if there is any problem with my order such as no bagel that I wanted or etc, they constantly check waiting customers. Once I give my name to the employee, she notice right away and give me options with apology. Del Mar-0890 location needs to be changed. Basically. This place is no support and has irresponsible manager. If I am the owner, I will educate all the employees again properly on that location and reconsider employee, Beto. Simply he doesn’t want to take any responsibility and his behavior showed me that he didn’t care. If I am the owner, not sure how to trust that place and especially Beto. We love Einstein Bagels, but that is not the place we want...
Read moreBeen coming to Einstein Bros. Bagels for two decades, but recently disappointed at the low level of customer service at this particular location.
All out of salt and pretzel bagels. Waited 15 minutes for just a bagel.
A clique of oblivious employees on the clock, behind the counter, chitchatting, most with their backs turned away from a disordered long line of several customers off the clock, (possibly on lunch break) simply waiting to order. One register taking orders and taking payment, as opposed to the usual two.
A clerk suggested I come behind the counter and help. (There’s no way to get behind the counter FYI) Otherwise I'd pop the bagel in the microwave (with an actual sense of urgency) and toss in a side of cream cheese. DONE. Out the door!
Manager, at first MIA, proved abysmal as she finally showed up, and gaslit me for speaking up.
“Out of the 13 people waiting in line, you’re the only one complaining.” - The Manager (Classic line. Her exact words.)
Not everyone is brave enough to speak up, nor might they care enough to share constructive feedback.
She refused to provide her name. She simply walked away before I could finish.
There are several security surveillance cameras that see everything. Reporting to Corporate. Discouraged from returning.
It's important to be cognizant of customers. Their time is just as valuable as everyone else's.
Sorry it happened in the first place. There’s no “updating it”....

False Advertising!
They Do not honor the big sign that is posted in their window!
Big sign in their window states $8.00 for a Bakers Dozen.
When you get inside, the employees, [by the way , they are very rude , impolite and act like they are doing you a big favor] start picking out which bagels they want to give you. Customer does not choose bagels they want.
It does not say this anywhere on their big sign in the window, and there are plain bagels pictured on sign, but you can’t get the bagels that are pictured on sign. Doesn’t make sense.
Plus employee was all mad that I didn’t want the bagels she was choosing for me.
Other customers understood the same as I did. That their big sign is false advertising just to get you in the door.
I came here all excited that I found a new bagel place, as I had seen the sign the night before. But I ended up leaving feeling as if I had been cheated.
So I than went to Panera, which always has happy, friendly employees, got my bakers dozen for 8.39, plus got to choose what I like to eat, not what a disgruntled unhappy employee at Enstein Bagels...
