Since the sudden closure of Twiggs at this location, the space has had a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. The south wall now features shelves of small plants to purchase, and there are a few plant leaves painted on one side. The space also has new patio chairs outside and the same old tables and chairs inside. It’s a rather stale atmosphere. I’m hoping they are still working to enhance it.
The drip coffee is very watered down, which is a shame as they feature James Coffee, which is quite good when prepared properly. The croissants have a chemically taste and texture, like they are store bought. You’ll definitely find better at other local spots like Meraki down the street. For the price, the quality of both should be much better.
The service was prompt, and efficient considering everyone is new, but they lacked engagement with the customers, all whom are locals. I’m giving them 5-stars on that anyway as it’s tough being the new guy.
I hope this location improves, as I love this location, but for now, it just needs...
Read moreGood Omen is such a great addition to the neighborhood! Like many others, I was a fan of Twiggs (their other location was even making my wedding cake) and I was sad when they had to close. I was worried about what would come next, and I felt so relieved when I was able to experience Good Omen. Gorgeous murals, plants, art, and (of course!) delicious coffee and pastries fill this space with a comforting atmosphere. My partner and I came on the day of the soft opening and could tell the neighborhood was excited to check out the new place, the team was working through the line with ease and speed that we found especially impressive considering it was day 1. We ended up ordering a cortado and hazelnut latte and both were delicious! I had to get my order to go this time, but I can’t wait to come back when I can hang out for a bit longer in what is sure to quickly become a...
Read moreMy favorite local shop! Just had the new seasonal Blueberry Lavender latte and I think the trajectory of my life was changed.
All the baristas are friendly, in a good mood, and are down to have a little chat if there's not a big line.
The lattes are always a perfect balance. I've had too many lattes at other places that are too sweet or can barely taste the coffee or it tastes burnt. But they always nail the ratio perfectly here!
Also there's a corner for local artist for sale, always fun stuff.
My only suggestion is more of a personal preference: I'd LOVE to see more art on the walls and have some cozy seating options. The seating environment feels more geared for people to work alone quietly on their laptops. I'd love a space than encourages you to meet other patrons, do creative work, or have deep convos with friends.
Overall love this place and so...
