Make sure you double check your drive thru bag because you may end up driving home, pulling out your food and discover that they didn't give you half your order. No problem, accidents happen you say, so you drive back with the receipt and the bag of food to calmly tell them they didn't give you half of what you paid for, but when you arrive, you discover all the doors are locked and while the lights are on, there is no one in the store to talk to even though you were there 15 minutes previously and it is now 6pm. After waiting for 20 minutes in the parking, with which your food you actually have is now cold, you give up anyone showing up at this restaurant again, go home to eat your now cold food, and then call the number on the receipt. No answer...
Then you get mad. You decide to call corporate to explain your problems. First number that is listed on their site is a phone number that's been disconnected. Next number you go through this automated service with the option of about a restaurant you recently visited. Select that and the offices are closed and it wants you to go online to fill out a complaint form. So you do that, get a complaint confirmation email and decide to wait. In the morning at 8 am you call that same number and go through the same prompts, the office is still closed at 8am on a Wednesday. You try again at the 9 am, 10 am, even 11 am mark. They never open.
3 days later you get an email stating your issue has been resolved, despite no one calling or messaging you on the issue. You even discover in the email an option that states "No one has tried to contact me." So you select that and it gives an automated message apology and a promise someone will contact you back in 7 business days.
After a month later hearing nothing back from anyone related to jack-in-the-box and near daily attempts to call a corporate number to talk to someone and their offices always closed in the middle of the day, you're on google review writing about your terrible experience and how you have never been to jack-in-the-box since that day and until they finally come and apologize, vow to never return to ANY Jack-In-The-Box restaurant. And because the runaround and lack of care on corporate part convinces you of a weird conspiracy at the corporate level to steal money from you instead of giving you your full order that you paid for.
Why they decided to pull this elaborate scheme just to steal $6.39 from me, I just can't understand.
Edit: Okay, just got a letter with some complimentary certificates as an apology. Still wonder why the store seemed to have no one in it after 15 minutes when I picked...
Read moreBeen here many times. Not sure if the noise from the street (just feet away from the ordering window) affected the ability to hear my order because I had to repeat it three times. And they still got it wrong. This time, though, I opted to pass it up. First, I was fortunate that there was even a parking spot available; and when there are, the few stalls that there are are narrow. That makes it difficult with my pick-up truck. I usually park on the street. This time, I managed to park, but when I finally got to the window, I was approached by a panhandler. He had already solicited another customer. Before getting a chance to order, I left this time. Sometimes there is sympathy for their plights, but I just wasn't in the mood to be bothered like that. Finally, trying to leave, I discovered I was hemmed in. The driver was still in the car, apparently waiting for her passenger, and moved immediately. She was parked there, probably because there were no places left. Anyway, I wound up going down the street to another vendor. BTW, leaving the parking lot into the street had its own drawbacks. You can't turn left, meaning you have to travel two or three blocks to a crosstreet that allows left turns - left turns ONLY because there are no U-turns on many of the streets. I would NEVER recommend trying to grab...
Read moreThis is my neighborhood Jack In The Box, and in my experience the service here is always very friendly! I've never had a bad order here, the food is always piping hot / fresh - covering everything from burgers, chicken tenders, fries, egg rolls, tacos, etc. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a fast-food drive-thru location in the area, just avoid the wandering zombies that on occasion linger on the east side of the restaurant facing Front Street, they usually are trying to panhandle passing cars, not the restaurants fault - blame our local government.
Just be aware, I believe this is drive-thru only, I don't think it has any indoor-dining space, and the walk-up order window is typically closed (I've never seen it open anyway, probably due to the aforementioned zombies).
It's a great Jack-in-the-Box either way, the drive-thru line moves quickly, and they aren't sketchy like the other closest one at University/8th which will close often before their indicated hours or frequently put up paper signs as "cash only" which is suspicious.
On the other hand, this location at West Washington Ave I've never experienced such antics, only positive experiences in my hankering for something delicious to satisfy my hunger! Keep doing what...
