Wow! This place is close to me and I really should go more often. Their falafel is outstanding. It's tender, fluffy and not at all dry. I ordered the plate for 16.00 with a side salad instead of rice. It comes with two sides too. I chose tabouli and hummus. It was ordered to-go and they included some nice dipping sauce and a bit of hot sauce. The salad was surprisingly good for a side salad. They use romaine not iceberg and it comes with plenty of tomato and cucumber and with some red onions. The dressing is also good and tastes lemony and homemade, if you like dressing on the side, ask for that. I appreciate the onions, they go well with a bite of the falafel. The tabouli was a bit strong on the parsley since it was only coarsely chopped, not minced, but eaten in smaller bites it was passable. The hummus was delicious and they gave me pita bread but it is not the fluffy kind, which I prefer. Also, they have beer and wine, which is newish to the neighborhood. Several take-out places have gotten the beer and wine licensers in Golden Hill and that's helpful! All-in-all I gave Kebob House five stars because the falafel is really that good! Congratulations Kebob House on your outstanding ways! I took of a star for atmosphere because it is a bit empty and cold. I suggest fabric hangings to cut the hallow sound and...
Read morePopped in with a buddy on a whim. The parking lot is a little small and the outside of the building is a little worse for wear, but holy cow the food. From the parking lot the scent of seasonings and grilled meat had me salivating.
The food was amazing and there was a ton of it for the price. I got a chicken plate with hummus and pickled vegetables and couldn't finish it. One plate is easily enough to split for a good sized lunch for 2. Took home some chicken shawarma which i demolished for dinner. Super looking forward to being back in the area to grab another meal.
The seating is a little limited, but the inside was immaculately kept. Reminded me a bit of being in Sicily where the outside appearance has little bearing on how nice the inside is. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My buddy and I put in to go orders and they took the initiative to wait about 10-15 minutes to start cooking it so it was hot...
Read moreI love the beef kabobs here. I've been coming to this location for almost 10 years. I think it has changed ownership a few times, but the beef kabobs (the ground meat ones) have remained solid. The last few times I've come the service has been awful and the food inconsistent (employees make the Greek salad differently). Whenever I order a side of the kabobs, it's always just meat. Today, I got them to go, to eat later (as I now live quite far out of town) and when I got home to eat them they were laying on a piece of pita bread. The problem -- I don't eat gluten, nevermind soggy gluten, and all the delicious juices were no longer in the meat, but in the bread. So stupid. When I called to let them know the owner was pretty rude and only would do something if I brought them back. Bring back good service, please. Whoever was there in 2015 did a...
