If you know Kearny Mesa, Asian cuisine is all around. Ramen shops spread out and finally I get to eat here. With missing out the first 2 times, packed and closed on Monday, today was simple and easy. Tucked away in a shopping strip, many other Asian restaurants around you have a good choice for eats. Not much people in which was good for me. The decor was simple and felt like a ramen shop. Of course I ordered the Karami special with Kaarage. Kaarage was good and juicy. Not much was burnt and kinda had that fry oil taste. Sauce was good, wish it came with a lemon. Now to the ramen. The special was surprisingly low key good. Broth had a good creamy flavor with the spice not overpowering the ramen as a whole. Alil small on the noodles, slurpability was 5/10. The egg was okay, yolk look like it was sitting out a bit. The pork was good enough, not dry and alil small sliced. The vegetables ran the the whole ramen. It's not my type of ramen cause it turned into a vegetable soup. The umami was amazing tho, got alot of everything with the broth. In all, it's better than most ramen around. I would have to go back and try their classic ramen, Tonkotsu is my go to. It's low key and it has potential. Maybe that's why it was packed the one day I went. If the broth was good for the special, I hope the broth for the classic is as better. Right now it breaks my top 5 spots, the classic ramen will secure the spot until maybe another might take it out. Will see. Well, on to the next one. Itadakimasu!

If you're lookin' for spicy ramen, Karami is the place to come and try out their various spice levels of ramen. This place is tucked away in a corner next to (Pho Mignon) on convoy. The restaurant itself reminds me of my visit to Japan. You get that authentic feel and decor, as well as the minimal space. This restaurant specializes in spicy ramen however, they do offer non-spicy ramen options. We started with the chicken karage, which was comparable to other places around San Diego. I tried the 3 pepper India shoyu flavored ramen. This is the ramen to get with a nice kick of spice that is not too over-bearing for those looking for flavor and heat. My brother tried the 1 pepper from Korea and we think it's for those who can't handle spice. Kinda on the bland side. My wife was able to try out a non-spicy shio ramen option which to her pallet was not satisfying. I'm a fan of this place since I like spicy soups and Karami delivers those options. Will have to come back and try out those different spicy levels.

Karami Ramen restaurant is hidden in the corner. Had this place bookmarked for a bit and when my friend asked me to meet her here for lunch I was excited to drive down to Convoy from North County. I've been having bad luck with tasty ramen lately and I will say that Karami Ramen has really great and tasty ramen. Service was good as they were not busy. Food: Lunch Combo: Miso Tonkatsu with chicken Kara-age for $10.90. My friend had the Karami signature Ramen which was delicious. The broth is very tasty but not fatty broth like a pork base. My friends ramen was extra delcious and I will try that next time. The noodles were perfect for me since I like it al dente. The karage was a little disappointing to me. I had to have them cook it more. It looked like it was still bloody on the inside however they crisp on the outside was perfect. Overall, I will return since it's starting to get cold in SD.
