Came in on Wed, May 31st around 21:30 (9:30pm). It was not too crowded for 6 of us. The server gave us plenty of time in picking our orders. I ordered the Bún bò Hu. Most of my friends ordered the rice portion of the food. Bún bò Hu was good. I felt that they give a good size portion of noodles and beef to soup. The bowl size also looks a bit larger than some of the other Vietnamese restaurants I go to. It looked spicy, but I was able to eat it without a problem. I was surprised that there was no pig blood. I did not recall eating one. I couldn't tell how my soup base tasted like because the spice blurs my taste buds. I can say that I enjoyed and liked the food. I wonder if they even put any MSG, because I did not taste any thanks to the spice. My friends who ordered rice items looked happy too. (A side note to myself: I probably would order extra rice because that amount of rice is way too little for me to get full). Now some memorable moments: the servers were very attentive to our needs. It is nice because we came at a time where it was not as busy so it was easy to get their attention. They were very attentive to refilling my water cup that I finished about 3 times. They was one server who asked us how was our day at work, which I think deserves some recognition. She seemed pretty and I did not expect her to be friendly. The other memorable moment about this place is the environment. It feels nice being inside. The interior looks new and clean. The bowl and the plates also look clean. There were no visible cracks either. The server uniform looks nice and professional. I feel in a high end restaurant. It is so different from all the other pho restaurants I have been to. I also feel that the people who work here are passionate with their jobs and that they are very detail oriented. As for payment, they can split checks up to 4 credit cards, but my friend decided to make their lives easier so I took the tab. Also a big plus is that they are open until 23:00 (11pm). From experience so far, most pho restaurants I go to close at 21:00 (9pm). Also, parking was not too hard to find as we came on a Wednesday and in the late evening hours. One thing though, I felt the price was a bit high for pho when compared to other restaurants. $10 pho compared to $7-8 at other pho restaurants that I have been to. But if you think about it of the things I mentioned on my review, $10 is reasonable. This is why I give them my 5 stars rating because of the food being good, the service that we got, and the environment which makes it different from other pho/Vietnamese restaurants. (From my...
Read moreA couple of weeks ago, I went to this Mignon Pho + Grill for lunch. When it came time to pay, we all asked for separate checks. Their payment system went down, but not before they attempted to charge my card twice. When they came back to let us know about the issue, I checked my bank account and saw two pending transactions from the restaurant. I brought it up right away, and they told me not to worry—the charges wouldn’t go through because the system was down.
None of us had cash, and they wouldn’t let us leave without leaving some form of payment. Someone in my party ended up giving them his card information so they could charge it later. I sent my portion of the bill to the person who left his card.
The following week, I checked my account again and saw that both of the original charges had gone through. So now I had paid three times—twice on my card and once via Zelle.
I called the restaurant to explain. The server who answered the phone remembered the situation, but the way he responded made it feel like he thought I was lying—possibly because someone else had left their card info, which may have confused the situation. I did my best to explain, and eventually he understood and said he would leave my info for the manager, who comes in around 9 or 10 p.m. (odd to me, but okay.) He told me, “Maybe they’ll call you tonight, maybe another day—I don’t know.”
By the end of the week, no one had contacted me, so I stopped by in person. One employee was ready to help, but the same server who answered the phone chimed in and said he had already spoken to the manager. According to him, the manager said I just needed to dispute the charges with my bank. I asked why no one called me, to tell me this and he said, “I passed along the message.”
So as I told them I would, I’m leaving this review to warn others. Their customer service is careless, and their handling of the situation was frustrating and unprofessional. I started to frequent this restaurant and genuinely enjoyed the food, but I won’t be back. Disappointing experience.
I encourage everyone to be aware and to check their credit card statements after...
Read moreThis review is being provided as a Door Dash Dasher.... Although I have not eaten there personally, I still will say that for a small business, their service is to die for and the food looks and smells amazing.
They're located off Convoy in Kearny Mesa is the Southwest corner side of the shopping center they're located in.
Since I'm usually picking up orders to deliver to my customers, I pay attention to the customer service and quality assurance aspect of how they operate. From the moment you walk in the door, someone will make sure that you are acknowledged and will immediately take care of you. I have never had to wait no longer than 5 minutes for my client's orders and when I scan the dining room area, it always seems that no one is left waiting.
From the front of the house staff to the Kitchen and Management. I give everyone a 5 star rating because it seems as though they've found the right combination of skills and knowledge on how a small business is to operate smoothly. Since I'm not an employee of the company I can't speak on the actual inner workings, but based on what I can tell, they're doing something right. I will be returning as a customer cery soon and will update this review at that time.
Until then, I hope that this review is helpful. I highly recommend this is a great place to eat with a small group of people. Outstanding guys! Keep up the great...
