L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in San Diego

Ok , let me tell you something…. What I absolutely appreciate is when a place of business takes responsibility. This L&L location did just that ! Long story short, I got the pineapple chicken plate the previous night. Got it home the chicken was In ridiculously large pieces. It looked caramelized HOWEVER it was hard and dry with one lonely piece of pineapple. So I call and was told to bring it back when I could. I did just that the next day.

THIS IS WHEN THE GOOD STUFF HAPPENED: I go in the following day. I was greeted very kindly by Melli. I briefly explained my situation and presented her with the chicken plate. Basically she said it was no problem to replace it. Showed it to the “Boss Lady” Ashley who let me know she would personally take care this ASAP! Now things a way a business should be operating. Take accountability, apologize, fix the issue . And let me tell you …. These ladies did just that! The plate came out amazing. I was extremely please with the outcome. I came in thinking I was going to get upset trying to explain why I got unexceptionable food. But NOT at all they did everything PERFECTLY to include this plate. I will most definitely be back. Thank you...

This was my third visit to L & L Hawaiian, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. From my perspective, L & L might as well stand for "Lousy & Lazy." After waiting fifteen minutes both of our Katsu Chicken dinners were not only cold but also overcooked. It's mind-boggling to think that any competent cook would knowingly serve such subpar food. This particular visit occurred at 5:45 pm on June 6, 2023, and based on this experience alone, I strongly believe the cook responsible should be held accountable and possibly even dismissed.

The lack of attention to detail is astonishing. The food was not even warm, let alone appetizing. It's disheartening to realize that I had tipped these individuals. I urge anyone considering dining here to proceed with caution. The quality of the food is far from acceptable.

I can only hope that basic hygiene standards are upheld, although my faith in this establishment has been significantly shaken. Given the abysmal quality of the food, I can't help but worry about potential health risks. I sincerely hope that neither I nor anyone else who dines here falls ill as a result of this experience. A few weeks ago my family used L&L catering for my grandmother's funeral and let me tell you from the beginning when I had alot of questions and would constantly email the manager Antonio(which he answered promptly every time) down to the end of the food being delivered everything this business did made it so mush easier for my family! We loved the food it was so delish as L&L is always an island bbq fav anyways! Everything was great! Even when we thought we were short 10 plates and there was a slight mix up, Antonio was very professional and prompt with trying to fix the issue and getting us those 10 plates delivered to us right away! We also looked into other island bbq places, compared plates, prices, etc, and all in all L&L was the best by far! Thank you so much L&L and Antonio you guys...
