Lucky’s breakfast is a special experience. I first got to know this place when living in San Diego when my boyfriend at the time introduced me. Fast forward to a cross country move, a few years away from Sandy Eggo, and a new husband who’s experiencing the golden coast for the first time. I had to show him Lucky’s. It’s good wholesome basic breakfast, with the one man show himself ... Lucky. He asked us about our day ahead, talked to hubby about sports, and of course at the end — we got fortune cookies. And Lucky even snuck in a few almond cookies too ;)
It’s cash only — so be prepared. And be prepared to sit, slow down, and enjoy the company if it’s a busy day. As I said above, he’s a one man show!! You won’t be disappointed....
Read moreThis is quite a unique restaurant. It's breakfast only and open short hours. On a Satuday, there was only one person, the owner, doing everything, from cooking and taking orders to cleaning. This makes it a slow experience, so don't expect constant service, but when you do get it, it's pretty attentive. He is very nice though.

The moment you walk in there is a sense of home that makes everyone in the restaurant feel like family. Run by Lucky and his friend/family(?), the service and food may not be what you get at other restaurants down the street but strangely enough, nothing about that is a bad thing at all.
