Okay so listen up! Mariposa Ice Cream is going to have a lot of if nothing but 5 star reviews. I'm here to give you the real tips you need to know. Actually, the most important piece of advice you have ever gotten when it comes to iced treats.
First a little background. I am a chocoholic. Fanatic, unrelenting, I order chocolate with chocolate and nothing else. That's not easy when you're at Mariposa, who's delicious hand made custom flavors roll across the pallet like a delicate butterfly dancing on iced sweet cream. So normally I'll taste something to see what I'm missing, and just order my 9 billionth chocolate shake.
But here's the deal... there's something else here that you cannot miss if you can get it. They have this ice cream called "peanut butter and jelly". Listen, this stuff pulls it off ... it's like you are eating peanut butter and jelly but ice cream and it is amazing. By itself this flavor is enough to fight wars over. That said, they do not always have that flavor of ice cream. They do however have a full selection and the sweet, sweet couple who run the shop are just amazing. Do yourself a favor and hop over here sometime. Check their hours and days because they'll close up on you when you...

These folks here are crafting incredibly good ice cream. If you are in the Normal Heights area, give them a try. I can't wait for summer to kick into gear.on those hot and muggy nights to go back for more. They are open late and that bodes well for those of us who want a sweet treat on a warm...

Sadly, the owner has since passed, but his cousin now runs the shop and is as passionate as he is friendly. He explained that the store closes every Monday to churn gallons and gallons of ice cream. Then they open their shop the rest of the week and sell out each day quickly.
