I hardly ever post reviews but I feel like this spot deserves one. I do food delivery and have been here a dozen times to pick up orders but have never eaten here before this review, and I should mention there’s almost always a line. I picked up an order today (from the date of this review) and saw they were grilling something. I asked what it was and it was their chicken kabob, which I said looked delicious and was offered a sample. One bite of that and I knew I had to get dinner here, even though I’m eating on a budget.
I ordered the plate with the chicken kabob, basmati rice, roasted seasoned veggies, hummus, shoug, and spicy tzatziki as all of my choices and the plate came with a side of pita. Oh, and some fries, too. All of it was delicious, I was just blown away and felt like I was missing out on all those times I could have eaten here. And that changed when I was offered a sample, which is great service and also a way to get me as a customer, which I can say now they got me on the hook. I’ve eaten at some of the Greek (Mediterranean) spots around Del Mar. I thought CAVA was my go-to spot but it’s now Micheline’s (don’t worry, CAVA, you still have the best pita chips ever). I had a Greek best friend growing up and ate a lot of Greek food, and Micheline’s reminded me a lot of it, but with it’s own take on Greek and Mediterranean food with their San Diego/California twist.
I highly recommend their chicken kabob, rice, fries, shoug, and spicy tzatziki (they told me the shoug was their most popular sauce - spicy but fresh, tangy, and delicious!). I will get the roasted veggies as a personal preference, and while the hummus had great texture and was really creamy, I felt like it was more on the plain aide of everything else. I’ll have to try it again and ask for some lemon to add, but the hummus complimented the other dishes really well when eaten together, especially the veggies. And, of course, the pita was spot on. It’s thick and you can easily split it open and make little sandwiches (they cut it up when you get a plate and bowl).
And, lastly, thanks for the great service for all the gentlemen that served me tonight, especially the one who offered me a sample and helped get me my order when I returned later to get my own dinner. You rock and gained me as a customer! Although, I do have to say, a few workers here can be a little short, but show a little kindness and respect and they will treat you well, speaking from my own experience picking up orders. They’re always so busy and running around and do an amazing job. They know me and always treat me well.

Read moreI visited the restaurant today only to have take away humus (which I recommend). The place was empty, yet the employees were chatting for a while without taking care of my order. The cashier was kind of rude too. I had 3 humus scoops to go, and just paid (skip the tip). When I left, the cashier run after me and said that my credit card did not go through. I was surprised and came back to end paying with the same card which now apparently did work. I asked for the bill and once at home I noticed that the new bill included a $2.90 tip. Although the net tip was not big (still about 30% of the price of the humus) I was disappointed because I had opted not to give a tip and, thus, I felt cheated. Will not come back again to...
