Iām writing this review, not to deter you from going, but so management can make improvements to their new business, and hopefully thrive in the community for a long time. Iāll start by saying the donuts were delicious and unique to anything Iāve had in San Diego. OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1.) When store opened (10:05), everyone walked up to the counter, as you do in every other place, but the line was told they could not take orders at the counter and we had to use the self serve digital kiosk. All good, Iām all about the efficiencies of technology, the problem was that the kiosk did not have the option to order donuts. One customer (older gentleman) got noticeable frustrated and walked out. We got the attention of the counter attendant and he came over and verified that the kiosk did not have the ability to order donuts. The line moved to the counter and it turns out THEY ACTUALLY CAN take your order at the front counter. Hopefully they get it figured out, seems like 5 minutes of testing by them would have discovered you canāt order their main product⦠2.) Probably by design, but the donuts toppings are very (VERY) āmeltyā. Chocolate was the most melty. Impossible to eat without chocolate all over your fingers. And not a great combination if you have kids and their fabric chairs. The chairs already had noticeable stains, from kids and adults alike, Iām sure. Like I said, Iām sure itās on purpose the meltyness of the donuts, but their single ply napkins were no match for my two kids. Literally probably used 50 napkins.
Paid $18 for 6 donuts. They were good, I think this is a ādo it for the gramā type of place, hope they work out these small kinks for longevity of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCute for photo ops but drinks were bland and doughnuts were overpriced & dissapointing. I ordered a green tea latte with cheese foam that didn't even taste like green tea it was so milky. The foam was lacking as well which was a bit of a bummer since it was an upcharge. The doughnuts were 3 for $10. Not worth it imo. They tasted oily, the icing was too sweet and again the actual flavors were rather bland. We liked the dark chocolate one out of the three flavors we tried. The surprise cup is what I'd come back for and that's about it. I've tried boba places all over SD and this is the only one I've ever been to that was a total miss. I hope they tweak stuff and improve over time. I can't see this place making it despite the good service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely first experience visiting this mochinut shop tucked into the Mission Gorge area. Immediate impression of the location was very positive. Adorable decor, incredibly clean, nice vibe with the music as well. The service was very fast and friendly. We tried six flavors of mochinut. Each had an excellent texture and weren't overdone with the toppings (in either sweetness or amount). Our standouts were the churro, the creme brulee, and the matcha. The drinks were also excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the black sesame hot latte and our children enjoyed trying the taro milk tea in it's sweet cat/bear topped cup.
Overall an outstanding experience, we can't wait to bring the whole...
