Sorry but your Koshary has nothing to do with Koshary! I was really excited to try the new Egyptian place but first I Received in bad packaging with a scotch tape. Food was stale and rice was sticky with no flavor. Worst is no spicy and garlic (shata and da2a) sauce! I will give another try later to give them another chance before changing my review.

The food was absolutely amazing. We were a group of three and we got Hawawshi, chicken tikka, pizza, and Sahlab beverage. Everything was really super tasty and great portions. The owner is so sweet, it is a private owned little cute place highly recommend it.

This Egyptian restaurant in San Diego is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of recognition! What sets this place apart isn’t just the incredible food, but the heart and soul behind it. The restaurant is owned by an Egyptian woman who personally ensures every detail is perfect. Her passion for her heritage and her commitment to excellence shine through in every aspect of the dining experience.

From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like part of the family. The food? Absolutely out of this world! The koshari was bursting with flavor, the molokhia was rich and comforting, and the freshly baked baladi bread transported me straight to Egypt.

What I truly appreciated was how involved the owner is—checking on every table, making sure the food is impeccable, and engaging with customers to share her love for Egyptian culture. Her dedication is inspiring, and it’s clear she takes immense pride in delivering an authentic experience.

If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and the personal touch of a passionate owner, this is it. I can’t wait to return and try more of the menu....

I recently visited The Taste of Egypt Cafe at Chula Vista Famer's market and ordered the Chicken Tikka plate, but unfortunately, it was far too salty to the point that it was completely inedible. I decided to bring up my concern with the owner politely, hoping for a resolution. To my shock, she was incredibly rude and combative in response.

She proceeded to argue that my complaint was unfair and claimed I was the first customer in two years to ever raise an issue—a statement which seemed more dismissive than relevant to the matter at hand. Instead of offering a replacement dish or refund, she took the food back, threw it away, and flatly refused to address my concerns. Throughout this interaction, she raised her voice and made me feel unwelcome.

Overall, the lack of care for customer satisfaction was truly disappointing, and I left without any replacement or refund. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone looking for quality food and...

Recently moved to the apartments near here and decided to check this out for dinner. The wonderful people working there immediately provided us a menu and let us know to ask if we had any questions. We ordered Chicken Tikka and Beef Shawerma to-go. They gave us a seat to wait at while they made our food.

The food came out quickly (
