My friend is the kind of guy that loves exploring his neighborhood... and he said "Mark, I found this little place and we need to go there.". I am not the kind to argue with him because usually he's spot on.

It is a little coffee shop in the North Park area... It wasn't much to look at from the street... looked like an average, run of the mill, independent coffee shop. I am not a coffee shop kind of guy. Really. I don't even know what some of these drinks are... I drink coffee... just coffee... with cream and sugar (although, as a Marine, I know I should be drinking it hot and black... to keep up the "Gunny" mystique...).

I went in. I was told that they were having a problem with their espresso machine... which meant very little to me... (read the above for explanation). I got a cup of coffee and was hanging out with my buddy... Then it hit me... I needed something to snack on... Walked in, got a White Corn, Lemon, Blueberry Muffin. Yep.. all of the above... and you know what? FREAKIN' PHENOMENAL!!!! Didn't even sound that great when I ordered it... But it was great... and my buddy ordered some type of a breakfast wrap that looked to be proof that God exists and wants us to be happy.

Look... I am not trying to convince you to patronize this place... make up your own mind... but I am going to tell you that IF you don't patronize places in your neighborhood, they go away.... This is a place that serves great things to eat... I probably would guess that the coffee is pretty good too... but you can get coffee at many different places... what you can't get anywhere else is the great, friendly and awesome team that they have at this location that is baking and making you HANDMADE deliciousness that is clever, rich and damn good-lookin' too!

I was so impressed with the team and what they do, I am baking them something and bringing it to them... A thank you for a job well done... and I will be...

I have been here a few times and seen the same cook who also happens to be the owner and I’m pretty sure the same barista. Every time I go in, I feel welcomed. Very welcomed and the chef REALLY knows how to craft the PERFECT Bacon, Egg & Cheese! First time I came, I had ordered the Chilaquiles but wasn’t too impressed by the flavor of it. My wife ordered the BEC first and the first bite into the sandwich and I WAS HOOKED! 2 visits after, and the flavor IS STILL CONSISTENT!

The atmosphere is so inviting, and the employees as well as the owner ( His picture is located at the end, book and wall ) have been so sweet with every interaction. The coffee was just as sweet! I had the Jack Torrance Iced with the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese, and I think it’s the perfect combo.

Seating is provided inside and outside. Inside Mystic Mocha, they have outlets connected in certain areas, so you may be able to do some work. Outside, they have table conversations that are fun while you wait for the food or while you are eating.

Parking is a little strange. I do have a posted picture, and the opposite side is the TUESDAY. I did park on one of the days there, and all the customers were kind enough to point me in the correct direction and not get a ticket, so I AM FOREVER grateful.

This cafe is an easy recommend and I can’t stress that enough. Good coffee, great food, and even greater staff...

We tried to order in bulk the vegan tamales. Usually you would get some kind of discount Or bulk pricing, however, each item was the same price, so that was a little demotivating. We understand it's a small business and they need support. But we also need support, especially if you like us to come back. And then we go in and order the tamales, which is only put in like a microwave or warmer of some kind. The ladies in the front cashier always done that for us, but we go and all of a sudden. The cashier can't do anything at all while the cook is on lunch. He has his own system. He says am I said all you have to do is warm it up. And he's says that's his system like I wait till he comes back. Also, it's interesting because this is a business yet every time I go, there's always issues with the vegan tamales. One issue is they always run out and no more till the following week?¿¿ so basically you just lost our business, we were gonna buy eight items from you and honestly it's not worth traveling for anymore . no longer will go back. On the most positive note you guys do have the best vegan tamales and the best vegan bacon....

A hole in the wall that's off to the side and features a very friendly staff, clean and inviting atmosphere & delicious freaking food. I had the Big Sur French toast to go and when I got it home the intention was to cook a couple of sausage patties to go along but I foolishly opened the box and caught a wiff of the scent and it was over at that point. I've never had a meal in my life where the bananas and strawberries actually came together to make the meal taste better except for this place. In short I stood there in my kitchen (not sitting) devouring this French toast and the sausage still never had a chance to hook up with the skillet. Besides what you've just read it seemed like the customers themselves were very nice and personable because this lady named Julie that I met would not let me get away without petting her little dog and she and the dog were very nice individuals. It's rare when I get to say such a thing and enjoy it but this place is worth your time and money so please give them a try just for the sake of friendly customer service and very good food.

Awesome! Fabulous! Neighborhood maker! I’m not sure I have the eloquence to fully describe my love and luck for living near this gem! To start- great coffee, great vibe, great people. Then add dog friendly, vegan friendly, vegetarian friendly and local business friendly. And we don’t stop there… now mix in good music, fun decor and lots of awesome sun filled picnic tables. Oh and if you are around later there is also beer and wine available. But what I like best is the thought behind everything they do- from fundraisers for childhood cancer and Christmas presents for an orphanage to organic options and supporting local options for their drinks and pastries. Eat and drink here to feel good and enjoy good tasty bites;) feed your soul and your belly!
