P.L. Bagels — Restaurant in San Diego

The bagels are delicious but the (owner?), the woman who is always there every day is very very Rude! She refused to get me a bagel from the basket (false advertising) but continues to get my Bagels from a drawer underneath the basket (bait and switch), but I noticed she gets other customers Bagels from the basket. I asked her could I please have a fresh bagel from the basket she said 'they're the same Bagels do you want it or not'? It's an everything bagel and you know that some have more seeds and everything on top of the bagel then others. I wasn't asking her to handpick the bagels I simply wanted a fresh one from the basket, she refused to serve me until I said I'll take that Bagel that she picked from the drawer. She is consistently rude to me every time I go in there unfortunately it's the only Bagels place in the area and they are delicious Bagels/creamcheese but that lady is very very rude and she shouldn't be at the front counter, she refuses to let anyone else help me, she controls that place and is very rude. I don't know if the bagels in the drawer are day-old bagels or the ones that aren't quite up to standard but they small and did not look or taste the same, there was hardly anything on the top of the everything bagel. I'm tired of her abuse when I am a paying Customer and simply want my morning Bagel like everyone else! I never did anything to this woman and she is very...

Went thru a lot of hassle to get cash to try this place and I don’t get the hype. The bagels are pretty small and they don’t put enough cream cheese. I got a sesame bagel with Jalepeno cream cheese and a bacon egg and cheese bagel on everything.

The thing that really annoyed me is that there was an abandoned order for a bacon egg and cheese everything bagel sitting around and she handed me that one and said “so you don’t have to wait” - there was no wait, and I would have wanted a fresh one. It was clear the difference in the freshly toasted bagel and cream cheese and the $6.50 bacon egg and cheese that had been sitting around. It was cold and not really toasted and had been wrapped so obviously barely feel the toast on it.

Such a great small family owned business! This place is busy and it's ran by just two people. The line can be long but for only two people taking orders and making bagels, the line goes by pretty quick. They are incredibly friendly here.

They have lots of bagels and cream cheeses here. The bagels are a great texture. I got their East Coast Special aka a Lox Bagel and it was delicious. Generous amount of cream cheese and lox on there. The lox was perfect and clean. The onion and tomatoes were fresh. They put the capers on the side for you. I will definitely be coming back for this.
