I have lived in the community where The Venetian is located for 20 years. My family and I decided to try The Venetian so we ordered takeout. My husband and kids had pizza while I chose the Chicken Picatta. That evening I got sick from the Chicken Picatta. After a couple of days I decided I should call to let them know I got sick so they can prevent this from happening to anyone else. I called Sunday and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that they were not in and if there was something that they could help me with. I told the gentleman on the phone that I got sick from my meal and he replied "Could I have your name and number so I can have one of the 2 owners Frank or Joey call you. Their customers are very important to them and I am sure they will want to apologize to you personally. I am positive they will because they are my cousins". I said sure and gave him my information. As the night went on I did not recieve a call from anyone. The next day in the early afternoon I thought I would try to give them another call since I have not heard back. I called and asked for a manager and was told none were in. Later that day my husband and I (after still not hearing from anyone) decided to go back to The Venetian in the hopes of speaking with a manager as we were starting to feel as if this was of no importance to them. We walk in to find that there were only 3 patrons at one table. We looked around for an employee and saw no one. So we continued to wait for almost 10 minutes before a gentleman came walking out from a door behind the bar. He said "Party of 3?" I replied "oh no we are hear to see if we can speak with a manager. The gentleman said "Well there is a manager here his name is Billy, but he is kinda busy right now" I asked to please speak with him. Billy came out and I explained my situation to him and that I have not heard from anyone. He said he will call Frank (one of the owners) now and see if he WANTS to talk to me. Billy then walks over to me, hands me his phone and says "Here is Frank". I began to tell Frank my situation about getting sick and calling the other night but did not hear from anyone. Franks response was "Well mam...I don't come in until 3:00 and I get my messages then." I replied "I can understand that and it would have been nice if the gentleman I spoke to the first night would of told me I wouldn't be hearing from you until Monday" I tried to stay on track of the main reason for my call which was getting sick from there food but he did not want to hear me and told me "You are a very angry woman and shouldnt get upset because I did not call." I told him that i just want to get my money back and if he could credit my card. His response was "Lady I will just give you cash so you don't come back to my restaurant again...I don't want you at my restaurant"! I was shocked to hear that since I was a paying customer and got sick from their food. I dont think their customers are important to them as I was told the first time I called. I will NEVER go back and I do not recommend this place at all. Service and Management are terrible and the food...
Read moreThis was my second time dining here, and the experience matched my 1st visit. This spot is easy to find with plenty of street parking. The food portions are generous and very tasty. My wife had lasagna, I ordered pizza, and we shared a salad. Everything tasted great and I especially liked their pizza sauce. But what stood out most me was the service! We were lucky to have Mike as our server both times we visited. From start to finish, Mike provided an exceptional dining experience and was attentive without being intrusive. He and his assistant anticipated our needs, ensuring our drinks were always refilled and checking in at just the right moments. Mike's warm, friendly demeanor made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. What stood out most was Mike's positive energy and light hearted humor such as joking about the "calorie free" Tiramisu we ordered for desert. Despite the restaurant being busy, he managed to keep everything running smoothly, which added to our enjoyment of the evening. His exceptional service, combined with his friendly and professional attitude, is a rare find. If you're dining here, I highly recommend requesting Mike as your server. He truly exemplifies what outstanding service should be.Thank you, Mike, for making our night special. We look forward to returning and experiencing your outstanding...
Read moreVisiting SanDiego from the PNW--Excellent service, quality food, and large portions. Mediterranean salad (chicken on the side) was a huge hit with my vegetarian mom-- my dad and I also had a taste, it was delicious. Dad got the calamari, it came in a cutlet form with pasta on the side; he really liked the seasoning and fresh taste. For myself I got the angel hair pasta "capellini angelino" with chicken added. It had just a dash of marinara sauce, and: olives, basil, and grape tomatoes. It was lightly flavored and tastes great with parmesan cheese and one of the great garlic bread slices. By the time I was full, the plate still looked untouched-- so much food. Wanna know the best part? We had already ordered a vegetarian pizza, (it was watching us eat our other entre, lol) we even asked them to add tomatoes and artichoke, mom managed two slices after the salad...also delicious. I'm actually in a food coma, as soon as I've come to, I'm...
