This review is strictly for our wedding cake! 🎂 After doing a lot of research online, I stumbled across this place and it really spoke to me. Yelpers give it great reviews, my husband and I met in Europe, and we also wanted a cake that would taste good for a good price for our small wedding party (cake was $90). I called a few months ahead to talk about the wedding cake options and the person working there was super helpful. I soon made my reservation and paid for it ahead online. Another worker called the week of our wedding to confirm the details and the best ways to store and serve it before the dinner. We ended up getting their famous Swiss Black Forest cake topped with vanilla frosting. The detail in the frosting was so beautiful! We added a custom cake topper I got from Etsy. We had a small 14 person wedding with just our family (2 babies included) and it was perfect for our wedding dinner. We even had leftovers, which some family members enjoyed the next day. We were so happy with our choice with this cake. We look forward to visiting San Diego again soon and stopping by this bakery to have more of this delicious cake and remember our big day! I also look forward to trying more of their items. European Cake Gallery— thank you so much for helping make our wedding day all that much “sweeter.”

My friend Tony got me the most delicious cake from here and I cannot stop thinking about it! It was the Swiss Black Forest Cake filled with light chocolate mousse & whipped cream- OMG DELICIOUS! What’s so special is that while it’s a big thick cake it was so light and airy and most importantly not overly sweet- literal perfection! And while I’m here he also treated us to the Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread- whaaaaattt? Heat it up and just pull it apart and enjoy BUT we also sliced it and made French toast out of it and it was divine! Anyway if you are needing a cake for a party or an event or just because, look no further, ECG is the BEST!

My task was to pick up a German Chocolate Cake from the European Cake Gallery in Point Loma for my sister-in-law's retirement. My wife placed the order, and I picked it up today. I was shocked by the $135 price tag but hoped the cake would be worth it. However, it looked unappetizing, some people called it pâté or spam. As a German, I can confirm that German Chocolate Cake isn't from Germany. But, more importantly, the cake itself was dry, crumbly, and lacked flavor. Given its taste and appearance, it might be worth $7.75, but certainly not $135. I told my wife, never - never again!

When a bakery has been in business for more than 40 yrs, they know what's up. Despite what other people have said about cakes being way too frozen or whatever... the cakes are made fresh daily and are semi-frozen to keep that freshness, not like other places that want to sell you a cake that’s been sitting on the racks for days.

Always pleased with how professional all the staff at ECG are. Super friendly, very helpful with any questions. You go in and come out being treated like family! Treats are very reasonably priced, and they use excellent quality ingredients.

I gotta say that I have not tried everything they sell (wish I could go home with all those cakes) but, I must say that the chocolate brownies are RIDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS!! They are super chocolatey, chewy, and fudgy. Took home a box of one dozen, and wanted to eat all of them at once!

Friends of mine get their cakes from here, like weddings, baby showers, and just because cakes, you name it, they make it and EVERYONE IS PLEASED!

European Cake Gallery has never disappointed me. Will keep on recommending this place to all of my friends. I will be back :)

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they now offer gluten friendly cupcakes!!...

I have purchased several cakes for birthdays, baby and bridal showers. Never disappointed.

Once, I gave them the wrong date for pick-up, and they were wonderful. They hurried up and put together a White Bavarian with fresh strawberries while my daughter waited. She was bringing it to the Central Valley for my other daughters bridal shower. It was a real hit. Best cake anyone up there ever had.

My favorites are the White Bavarian with fresh strawberries and the Swiss Black Forest. Last year I bought 2 cupcakes for my own birthday since my SO bought me a cupcake from a grocery store (tasted like chemicals) after I specifically asked for European Cake Gallery. I...
