Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in San Diego

The pizza tasted fine, the same classic Papa John’s flavor I’ve had everywhere else (Chile, Dominican Republic, Spain, Holland, England)… but I have NEVER seen a Papa John’s in such awful, rundown condition

First of all, there is no place to eat inside. No tables, no chairs, nothing. If you want to sit down and enjoy your pizza, this is not the place. I wish I had known that before driving several miles to get here. The shop is tiny, poorly ventilated, and the service was just plain BAD

I ordered a medium vegetarian pizza and some cheese sticks. The food came out fast, but when I went to pay, I was shocked: 40 dollars. Forty dollars for one medium pizza and cheese sticks. I don’t know if they ripped me off because I looked like a tourist, but I’ve had Papa John’s in different countries and I have NEVER paid that much. I paid it just because we were starving with my girlfriend

To make it worse, the only option was to eat it in the car, in a sketchy parking lot full of junkies. I ended up taking it to Dunes Park by the beach

Honestly if I could give no stars, I would. The first couple of times ordering from them was a great experience. Then the bad service started and it's obvious to me now that it'll just continue no matter how many times I complain. I just received my free order of two pan pizzas and cheese sticks because last time I ordered this, it was cold and the pizza looked and tasted as if it had been sitting around all day and then just warmed up before being brought to me. This time, although it was free, the pizza once again looks and tastes old and is so dissatisfying. It also took two hours to get to me even though the person on the phone that took my order told me it would roughly be an hour. I called to check in after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting and was told my delivery had left the store 10 minutes prior to me calling and that I should receive it "any minute now" because their store is only 15 minutes away. I still waited an additional 40 minutes after that before receiving my food which wasn't even worth waiting for. Long story short, I'm very disappointed in this papa johns and won't be ordering from...

I am normally a huge fan of Papa John’s. But this location scares me. They messed up an order and gave us the pizza of another take out order. Which is fine it happens. But when the first thing they ask is if we touched the wrong pizza given to us and wonder if we can give it back to them, I’m worried. Especially when the attendant is too flustered to let me answer, assumes it hasn’t been touched and makes arrangements to have it returned to give to the person who made the order. I also had to request they send a driver to correct their error, which they admitted to. They asked me to come in to correct their error first. I’m now concerned our pizza was touched by another customer’s hands. How can we know? How can we know for future orders at this location? I’m already trusting the Papa John’s employees to have good hygiene when touching our food, it’s disgusting to ask us to also trust strangers not employed by their company.
