Overall pretty solid, the pork chashu is one of the better ones I have had in the US, tender, good balance of fat and lean, the rice in the bowl was a bit dry, good sauce. The sushi rolls were big, perfect sushi rice, fresh ingredients but the sauce on the G Spot Roll was way too strong. Finally the Ramen, the noodles are perfect, right level of chew and the thickness that I like, but the soup base is very strange. My miso broth didn't taste like miso, but just a thick pork bone soup, I tried the spicy version, basically taste the same with some spices. I was also disappointed with the egg, yellow yolk? Using the US Ramen standard, this is not bad. It just reminded us that this is not LA. The service was super fast, 2 waitresses, 2 floors and bar counter, everything came up in 10 mins. There is a good alcohol selection as well.

I ordered the Veggie roll and paid an additional $1.60 for avocado on TOP of the roll. I went to the host and told her that there is no avocado on top and they mentioned that the veggie roll doesn’t get avocado on top because of the seaweed and therefore they added the extra avocado on the inside. But CLEARLY there is no extra avo and they just robbed me of $1.60!!!!! On the site when you are paying for extras there is an option for extra avo inside vs outside. The one for outside is $.60 more because there is a lot more that goes on top. But They all insisted that I take the order as is and also one of my rolls had hardly no avo. Not coming back to this place. This and the fact it took them 20 min to make 5 rolls!

A decent spot for ramen in San Diego! I’ve tried ramen at lots of spots here, and Ryoma might make the top 10. I’d say the ramen was a 6/10 but I really liked the atmosphere and the service. The Shoyu ramen broth was nothing to write home about - I wish I had tried the miso. Pork was good and the noodles had good consistency. I’d also say that the egg was over cooked for my liking. I added corn to mine and enjoyed it - if I came back again I would likely try one of the spicy offerings. As I said, I was seated and served quickly, and the waitstaff was super friendly. This isn’t my favorite ramen in San Diego, but you can do a lot worse.

The food is not bad, which is why I’m not rating them lower. However, with a party of 6 they did an added gratuity, which is totally fine. But what wasn’t fine was the horrible service that you’re mandated to pay for. Our server never once checked on us, I had to yell across the room for water because it was never filled up, and she charged us for ponzu sauce when I’ve never been charged for ponzu sauce at any other sushi restaurant I’ve eaten at. I was also charged for 3 extra garlic sauces that I didn’t know were an extra charge, one of which came with the chicken. And I was also charged extra for tempura addition, which is fine, but it was a whole $3.50 for one shrimp. That’s pretty absurd.

Manager was unapologetic. Servers are not the best. Food is decent. Watch your bill, they will overcharge.

Update: I went again to see if anything changed and the service is just as bad as I remember, if not worse. I went to the kitchen twice to ask for simple things I never received: lemons, napkins, spoons. I decided to give the tip to myself tonight since I was the one serving myself. Downgrading my review...

Bad experience. Floors & stairs very sticky. Tons of cobwebs inside window seals. Lots of dust on hanging lights & industrial pipes. Spider fell on my son from the ceiling. They forgot to replace our drinks & still charged me for them. We asked for water, which we never got. As we were leaving, the waitress said “oh, do you still want those waters? Hell no, we’re leaving now! I had to ask for the manager, which he was informed what happened. He never came to check on us or apologize or offer some kind of discount or free something. I had to tell him to take off the charges of the drinks I never received. 2 Veggi ramens I ordered came lukewarm. I also ordered Katsu chicken, which came as chicken tenders (do you think I wouldn’t notice) Take those off my check, plz. Charge was still there. My family will never return to this establishment. I also told the manager about the cobwebs & dust, of course very nicely & he said to me “oh I don’t see” after I showed him, his eyes about popped out. He did say “sorry”, but it was...

I wanted to like this place, it was welcoming. The server “Mana” was nice at first. Taking our order, smiling and helping with recommendations. We received our lemonade and iced green tea, I noticed the powder shifting at the bottom, and they tasted as such. Then came the pride roll, 6 small pieces with a fishy smell from the likely-old shrimp. I wish that was the worst part; the tempura was STALE. We had 3 pieces and let our server know. She brought the dish back and said she would take 50% off since I had the 3 stale pieces already. I said fine, she ignored us the rest of the time until the bill came and more ignoring after placing my card on the bill. The Ramen seemed like it was left overs too, about 1/3 length of a regular noodle. The noodles also had no night to them, soggy. The base was decent though. The karagu chicken was a reheat and supper salty. Terribly loud music and likely only get business because of location. Only the soup portion was decent, which left us full, but weirdly unsatisfying....
