Gila Rut Aveda Salon — Local services in San Diego

I was greeted by Shannon at the front desk. He was genuinely happy to speak with me and get checked in for my appointment. He had a very positive vibe and tbh it radiated from him. Santiago was my stylist and I loved that he asked what is it that you would want with this visit or something to that effect. It wasn't what kind of cut your looking for but what is it you're looking for. I said I wanted to know what can I do to improve my hair care regimen. We already previously discussed cutting my hair in long layers but I loved that I was able to speak about how I'm taking care of my hair and what can I do better. I want fuller and volume and he brought me 3 different products that he suggested and explained them. I'm coming back for the root thing one (can't remember what it is called) but it'll give me more volume and bounce starting at the roots. Nadia was also there as a teacher/trainer and she was great too. Together they made my afternoon amazing. I loved the chatting and being able to smile and laugh. I had a lot of fun. The results you ask? Well, Santiago finished my cut with a Beach Wave. I look amazing and Jeff (bf) loved it too. I can't wait to come back and have Sarah do my color. Thanks again for the great afternoon.

Right from the second you walk in the Gila Rut doors, you are greeted with a welcoming "hello" and from there it feels like an escape to a pampering session. I love that they have private changing rooms to don your cape in. You get two complimentary services, my favorite is the shoulder, neck and scalp massage paired with the hand and arm massage, but I've also tried the mini facial and that is divine as well. Aveda products are made from clean ingredients and have fresh scents so you feel refreshed. The salon is always kept clean and organized and the staff becomes your second family. Andrea is an incredible colorist, I can trust that she will get my highlights dialed in every single time, her flawless application skills makes the grow out so smooth that my friends will ask if I just got my hair done and it is week 6! Jayne is my master cutter, her precision and attention to detail is nothing short of artistry. I have been a patron of Gila Rut since March of 2021 and I couldn't dream of going anywhere else.

I went to the salon to make an appointment for haircut for the first time. I made an appointment and asked if they have i phone charger. They said they don't have any so my phone was dead I cancelled my app and left the salon.

That was the whole thing that happened . I went home , picked up my charger and called them again and they said yes we have availability for Micheal to do my haircut. I made an app through phone and headed to the hair salon . After 5 min he called me and said” i need to deny your service because you talked to the front desk inappropriately.” I was shocked. I asked what did I say? And he replied “ you asked if she has a common sense.” He said i cant do haircut for you. I was so shocked and clueless . I replied “ you made a mistake me with another person however at this point I am not comfortable to come too.” It was the first time something like this happens to me… so rude.
