I was excited to try the Randy’s Donuts in San Diego since I have been to the one in Los Angeles. Instead I had the most unpleasant experience with Randy’s Donuts. I purchased a dozen donuts and four croissant sandwiches. After the purchase I asked the employee if I could have some napkins since they had ran out. She said she would replace them. I waited for 10 minutes, I asked another employee since the original person I asked seemed to have gotten busy which I very much understand it happens. The second employee said she would replace them. She made an order for another customer and then proceeded to help me. Apparently they had ran out of napkins in the front since she could not find any. After looking she said to me in the most rude way, “I’m going to have to go to the back so it’s going to be a minute.” I had been patient this whole time and she made it seem like it was a bother for her to do her job. I still waited because I needed napkins but after waiting for 10 more minutes I left. I will add that when I arrived it was busy but at this point it was not busy anymore. The customer service in this place is the worst. I work in a job where customer service is very important and this place failed that aspect in so many ways. The waiting would have never been a problem but being respectful and having a good attitude is what this person needed. Will definitely not...
Read moreDry donuts was the outcome of a long wait our first time! Maybe we went too late. There weren’t any fresh donuts coming out so we figured earlier was better. We decided to try a second time. How were the donuts this time? Who knows! We stood there with 6 others waiting to order as the one worker made drinks for 10-15 min! During that time I got to look at the donuts, some looked dry while others might be okay. Then the couple in front of us left without ordering. The worker looked up from their drink making, saw them leave and pulled out 2 more empty cups to start with round 2! Still no clue who those drinks were for. No recognition for those still waiting. We finally left without ordering when we saw no sign of him stopping the drink making!
So we drove to Mary’s donuts! At Mary’s, there were multiple workers, we were greeted right away and not a dry donut in site. Skip Randy’s and go to Mary’s or Sesame Donuts! Both are so much better! Maybe if Randy’s owners didn’t need a new summer home, they could afford multiple workers and customer...
Read moreHey, did you know that Randy's Donuts or Doughnuts has come done from Inglewood, Los Angeles to San Diego, California. No, really, they have. They are down on Murphy Canyon Road. I was driving by, and it was like, "Hey, it's Randy's Donuts, I am in!"
I've never been, so the very nice lady helped me out and recommended the Butter Crumb Raised, which was a great choice, and I chose the Lemon Old Fashion, which was terrific. They didn't have a cortado on the menu, so I ordered the Caffè macchiato.
I loved the lemon flavor and texture of the lemon old fashion. The frosting was lemony, and so was the cake part of the doughnut. The Butter Crumb was fantastic. It was super soft and tasted great. It was a winner. I do plan to return to try some new flavors.
The macchiato was good, but not as good if it was a cortado. The staff members were all super friendly. Thank you for coming to San...
