Extremely terrible customer service. After opening our online pickup order at home, we see that they missed a whole curry dish in our order. When I called to inform them, I gave them my order number so they can pull it up, but the young boy who picked up the phone said that there is no way for him to search for my order. I asked if he can view the order history? And he says no, with no other explanation. He says I can drive back and pick up the missed item if I want. I told him we already ate other food in place of the missing item so we don’t want it anymore, and if he can issue me a refund. He says I have to come in person to get the refund because there’s no way to give it online. In 2021, this is an absolutely ridiculous response. I was so furious that I drove to the restaurant, not because I care about the food or the money, but because he needs to understand what kind of horrible service he’s providing. My father, who ordered the food, is disabled in a wheelchair and had his nurse go pick up the original order, who leaves after dropping it off. After opening and finding out there’s missing food, he is not able to hop back in the car and to make another trip for missing food or money for refund (total waste of time anyway). The boy on the phone offered no apology and expressed no remorse for his own mistake. When I got to the restaurant and asked him why he couldn’t find my order on his iPad (which clearly shows an itemized list of orders), he said he’s never done it before and his manager isn’t here right now. Even in person he showed very little regard or care for the situation. For a restaurant that didn’t look like it had booming business when I walked in, you would think they would learn that a little bit of customer service goes a long way. I’m surprised they have this kind of attitude since it’s not like their food is that great anyway. Safe to say I won’t be going back here, but I would encourage everyone to be extremely careful if you plan to order online from here. According to my dad, he’s experienced the same mistakes and same careless service (over the phone and in person) many times in the past and stopped ordering from here. I was visiting from out of town and didn’t know this, but quickly learned. If you do want to still ignore this review and order online, at the very least make sure you double check the items in your bag against the order before you leave, otherwise expect to make another...
Read moreI'm in food heaven right now. I just had the most gratifying lunch at this place.
This was not my usual lunch experience; I'm not a food critic or a chef or even work in the industry, so I don't get to talk to the chef when I visit restaurants, but today, thanks to my friends, we got to meet Chef Kanta, the owner and chef of Sattvik Foods!
As we enjoyed our appetizers, she told us a little history of herself (which you can find on the restaurant website) and what Sattvik means and strives to do. In essence, she wants her food to bring wholesomeness and positivity and they sure did.
We ordered some side dishes to go with our full thali (rice, roti and 3 curries of your choosing). One of the curries I had was the paneer and it was my favorite among the three! It was so good when Chef came out to ask our group if we want any second helpings (pretty sure this doesn't happen in normal settings), I quietly asked her if I could have more paneer curry.
For desserts, we had chocolate almond burfi and boondi ladoo. This was the first time that I had or even heard of boondi ladoo. They were these little balls of sweetness! Each was around the size of a ping pong ball. As you bite into one, you get more than just sweetness, there is a slight surprising taste which totally elevated the experience for me. I'm not gonna spoil the surprise by letting you know what that taste is. Try it for yourself!
Rose lassi! I love rose beverages and I've never seen rose lassi before, so I had to get that. It was really good.
They also have boxes of snacks and desserts in the fridge for you to buy and extend the food heaven to your home.
Thank you, Chef Kanta, for taking us through this amazing...
Read moreI visited Sattvik on May 1st, 2021 around 4 pm. The young lady at the counter took our order and asked us to be seated while the food would be prepared. I noticed a discrepancy with the bill. Some items were surcharged like the ones I have pointed out in the attached photo of the receipt, when I have also paid the sales tax. The full thali is $13.99, and mirchi bhaji was $6.00 as per menu pricing. But my receipt shows $14.55 and $6.76. The other items did not show a different value as marked on their menu. When I questioned the lady who took my order, why the values were different for two items and not for the other two items, she said they charge credit card fees of 4%. When I asked why it was hidden, she said every restaurant charges this due to COVID situation. When I asked her why only two items were charged and not the other two, she said and I quote “Please do the math yourself. It’s just a few cents. If you don’t know about the 4% credit fess policy, then I can’t do much.” Is this the way to talk to a customer who had doubts? Really? I am never setting foot in this place again. They have hidden fees, to make up for COVID situation, that they charge the customers for. I’m never setting foot in this place again! They should really learn to respect customers and answer questions honestly and not generalize that all restaurants are surcharging the way they are. Terrible experience! Oh and the food was not great! Rotis not cooked completely. The mirchi bhaji dough was uncooked so the...
