we’ve been looking forward to finally getting a new ramen spot in the neighborhood, and we were hoping the soft launch during the past month would work out all the kinks. we ate on 1/12 during their “grand opening” and it was a bumpy experience to say the least.
food 10/10 - all of the apps were really good, unfortunately they were all out of pork gyoza by the time we got seated.
environment 7/10 - small restaurant but the space isn’t utilized in the most efficient way.
service 5/10 - the main host was quite rude. and not accommodating at all. we did have a large group, but we told him he could seperate us if needed. we were told an hour and 15 minute wait. we were finally seated 2 AND A HALF HOURS LATER at 4 different spots around the restaurant. there was no logical thinking as to the tables he sat us at, and we actually had to tell him what would make more sense.
additionally, if you only have ~8 tables, you need to enforce a time limit at the table. we were told the table we were waiting for to clear up had been sitting there and chilling for over 2 hours.
once we finally got seated, our server trishna was fantastic. she was on top of everything and was super friendly, and we were given free merch (but really not sure if it was because of the “grand opening” or the lengthy wait time.)
overall, i think this could be a great location but they need to work out all the issues before...
Read moreI was very excited to have a ramen spot open in crown point so close to my house. I’ve been to the Tajima on convoy and it was great, so I was really looking forward to having this one open up after months of seeing the sign... Boy was I let down.
It started with us putting our name on the waitlist and coming back 20 min later to check when we’d be seated, just to be told our name never got put on the list and it would be 20 min more. After being seated, the waiter took our drink orders and was extremely confused with everything we said and actually charged us for an additional drink that was never ordered! When getting the food, my wife got her ramen and I never received mine, to the point where I had to ask and it was 10 min after she got her bowl. The tonkotsu ramen was so much worse than their convoy location: Smaller portion, less flavor, and the chashu pork was 1% meat, 99% rubbery fat. I would like to preface this with I love fatty pork, but this was not good. The server was so flustered and really had zero idea what he was doing. It seemed like there was very minimal training of staff before opening and it showed.
I know it’s only been open for a week, but take my word… Do not go here unless they drastically improve. I’m bummed to say this, but there’s way better options in PB right now. Overall...
Read moreI got the vegan ramen, it wasn't the best. I don't think I'd go back. It kind of tasted like soap? The staff also kind of left me hanging in the front for a while, it probably would have been a more pleasant experience to order online and have no human interaction. While I was acknowledged, it was kind of awkward to watch the staff just talk to other patrons for a while, and just talk to each other while I just stood there. Not super welcoming. They also didn't put any utensils or napkins into my to go bag, so I was unable to eat it...
