Ok, don’t get me wrong, I adore this place. The food is great too, I recommend the grounds bean bar to my friends, tourists, and family. I haven’t had the best customer service when ordering, it has improved, today at least the person taking the order did the basic customer service things such as smiling and asking how I am and responding when I asked how they were.
I ordered a breve latte, horchata, and a turkey sandwich. They were out of half and half. It wasn’t even 11am. You are a cafe, you serve coffee and you definitely should have half and half or send someone out immediately to restock it, I get inventory sometimes gets off but in these situations you absolutely need to have a plan in order so you don’t disappoint your customers. I worked as a barista for a few years, and I work in the customer service industry owning my business, if I don’t have something in stock I offer options or give my clients something for not being able to meet their expectations. I ordered just a regular latte, I did not enjoy it at all. It’s not my drink, and I went out of the way passing up 4 other cafes to come to this one. It’s disappointing, and I can tell you if I was management I would want to be aware of this problem, train my staff better to handle these situations in a way that will make the customer feel valued. And I definitely wouldn’t have charged the person for...
Read moreI want to preface by saying that this is a one-off experience as I’m not writing as a local and thus this review can be biased, but consider this a “first impression” review. It was a short walk from where my friends and I were staying nearby. The aesthetics are very apparent in the photos - that was one of the best parts of the shop. The service was okay; we were ordering five drinks and getting food items as well, but when asking questions of the menu (as I said we are from out of town and thus it was our first time at this particular shop, although all of us are avid coffee drinkers), it started to feel as though we were becoming an inconvenience to the baristas. The responses were a bit stale, but that’s okay - like I said, this is a one-off experience and thus I do wish to give the baristas the benefit of the doubt! Other than the aesthetics/ decor, I loved that the shop seemed to be dog-friendly. It seems a great stop for those walking their dogs or just strolling by who want to stop in and get a cup of coffee or a pastry. The coffee was pretty good as well, no complaints! If I was in the area, I’d consider...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place since it’s close to my apartment, but have come to the conclusion that it’s terrible. I’ve been to this coffee shop probably 15-20 times before and have noticed the service is slow and the staff is consistently rude. I’ve had experiences where I get eye rolls and rude comments while I’m ordering, and other experiences where baristas will ignore questions that they can clearly hear, will snap at me for asking which drink is which (told me to read the cup and rolled her eyes), or will just glare at you. My day is always worse when I leave that place and I leave in a bad mood. Also the coffee tastes burnt and watery and they’re out of oat milk 50% of the time. You would think if they’re always out of something they’d get better at...
