So my favorite spot has been collapsing for weeks now. Today was the final visit. I got my burnt toast (sans butter), cold potatoes and half cooked bacon quickly. It was good l ordered the 1/4 breakfast, because the two eggs were the only edible food. After my slop was dropped l couldn't get anyone to even look at me. Empty coffee and slop for fifteen minutes. I knew they saw me gesturing and getting half of excuse me out, But, they pretended they didn't see me. Finally l did the last thing either of us wanted, l took my empty cup and slop to the kitchen. The manager was clearly irritated and rudely got me coffee while throwing out my breakfast and saying he would replace my toast. Oh boy thanks for that. Not I'm sorry, we could do better or any recognition of their slovenly work. So l got three more undercooked pieces of bacon, after pointing out he threw my breakfast away and more burnt toast, but with butter. Then to top it off he had the nerve to bring me a full price bill. Of you come here(l wouldn't), clarify how much properly prepared food you will get and negotiate the price first. I would have paid full price either way and never returned, but it's...
Read moreNot a local, just a traveler with his family and needed a place for some breakfast. I started to read some Yelp and Google reviews about this place and thought it was worth a shot. Plus, it was the closest breakfast spot to our hotel with a decent rating.
Wasn't expecting to have my jaw dropped and that definitely didn't happen either. I went for a build your own omelette which came with country potatoes and some toast. Not a fan of country potatoes, would much rather have hash browns. As for the omelette, nothing to brag about. I have amazing options back home in Minnesota!
My wife went for the breakfast sandwich that she filled with a bunch of add-on's. While it was something that you need a bib to enjoy, it actually was pretty good. Our little guy had some panpakes as he likes to call them and those were decent as well, but again, nothing to go out of your way for. Just a small, hole-in-the-wall spot for the locals.
If I make it out to the S.D. area again (highly unlikely as the state is much too blue for me - sorry to get political), but if I did, I probably would look for something else to try if my hotel was in the...
Read moreI am a long time customer. The first time I ate at this great little restaurant was a big wow experience! A casual setting for sure but the food and the service is fantastic. Servings are generous and the food is very tasty. My favorite breakfast is Chili and eggs. I am getting hungry thinking about it...
They had a posted sign that caught my eye when driving by; it read, "Best Breakfast in Town". With a sign like that, I will try this restaurant for sure! (I recommend restaurants and businesses make claims like this and then live up to it. If a customer says something like "Best" then the owner should find a way to share it with the public, just like the Menu did with a sign that everyone driving past can easily read).
I am very glad I can read! I discovered that the Menu restaurant lives up to it's claim and that has made it a local favorite and a destination in Pacific Beach (Crown Point). You will LOVE this restaurant. Decor is folksy and the atmosphere is friendly.
