Let me begin by saying the Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast is beautiful all the way around. The grounds are inviting and very pretty. Everything is clean. Norm is nice showing us where everything is outside etc. We did not meet his wife. There was no personal greeting from her at all. My husband and I have stayed in wonderful places. We have stayed in one of the best bed and breakfast's in California where the amenities were top notch. The food here was frozen and store bought from Trader Joe's then stocked in my cabinets/mini fridge. I know with Covid-19 a lot has changed, however a personal greeting should not change. With the outside seating there can be added personal touches for food and beverage. When one chooses to stay in your establishment especially during times like we are in now, I believe the time should be taken from both inn keeper's to greet the guests. Without guest's and customer's we have seen what this is doing to local businesses. This being said, there was also a mix up upon our stay. We booked Tues - Thur, checking out Fri. morning. We even added a late arrival on Mon evening. We had a knock on our door Thur morning asking if we needed more time for check - out? To say the least my husband and I were a bit frazzled. I immediately checked with my credit card company to verify what I had been charged. I then confirmed my email for the booking information. We were correct, but Norm and his wife made a mistake on their " calendar. " Norm, confir.ed we were right. We got an apology from his wife via text. Again, where is the personal connection? This was a mistake that interrupted our stay abruptly. Though the interruption was brief, it was unprofessional and caused slight chaos making us think we were supposed to be checking out. The Tuscan Room did have plumbing problem with the toilet. My husband took care of the issue himself. Though we loved the area being close to the beach, food, and town, I am not sure we will stay again. It is upscale hotel, but not what one would expect...
Read moreMy wife and I wanted to take a last minute getaway. We had been to San Diego a few times before, so this time wanted to try something a little different. Beach Hut B&B came up several times in our search for a place to stay, and the reviews made it sound like just what we were looking for. Beach Hut B&B did not disappoint.
While not in the heart of San Diego, we were within a short 5-10 minute driving distance of everything we wanted to do (Old Town, Liberty Public Market, Belmont Park). There was beach access directly across the street. The beachwalk around Mission Bay made for a perfect morning stroll. Just down the street was a beach park with a view of Sea World where we watched boaters as we relaxed and took in some sun.
Beach Hut B&B only has two rooms. We had originally requested the Tuscan room. Unfortunately, that room was not available during our weekend. Linda and Norm were very accommodating in moving our reservation to the Garden Room. The best part is, we ended up having the whole place to ourselves. The Garden Room room turned out to be very nice. We had a dedicated parking spot. The property is gated with a security code for entry. The room was very cozy quiet, with a faux fireplace. The garden area with the fountains and wind chimes was peaceful. They have a small plunge pool - which was too cold to enjoy this trip, but made for great pictures - and a fire pit for lounging in the evenings. For the mornings, they stock the room with everything you need for a satisfying breakfast. You can request bagels, English muffins, waffles, muffins, cereal & milk, egg bites, yogurt, fruit, juice, Keurig coffee and all of the necessary accompaniments. You provide your choices in advance, and everything is in the room when you arrive. The kitchenette has all of the necessary equipment and utensils you need.
Thank you Linda & Norm. Beach Hut B&B was exactly what we were hoping for in a quiet, relaxing getaway. We will definitely consider staying here again when in the...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere.
The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed that ensured a restful night's sleep. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the cleanliness to the luxurious linens.
The location was perfect, offering easy access to the bay and a short distance from the beach. Whether I was relaxing at the cozy fire pit or exploring the nearby sights, I felt completely at home.
What truly sets Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast apart is the zen like feel of the property. With a pool and fire pit surrounded by palm trees and humming bird bushes the humming birds are plentiful.
And the sunsets from the nearby Mission Bay beach are frequently magical!
The host, Linda was incredibly attentive, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Her genuine care and dedication made me feel like a valued guest.
I highly recommend Beach Hut Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking for a charming and luxurious retreat. I can't...
