I had a terrible experience here.
Short version: We picked up our food on Sunday, our food was rotten by Tuesday. The Meal Prep Co did not stand behind their product and tried to lock us in our 4 week contract regardless. Mediocre food, the worst customer service I've ever seen.
Long version: Colleen and I shared the same terrible experience, but since the owner of this business is airing dirty laundry about me on a public forum (is that even allowed?!), here is my side of the story.
I had a pleasant experience with Jimmy. I met him during a presentation he did while I was working out at Fitness Quest 10, and he was very knowledgeable during our consultation.
My experiences with both Reyna and Mairene are the reasons why you should stay away from this company.
Reyna contacted me on Friday after we voiced our concerns regarding our rotten meals. She was apologetic on the phone but informed me even though our meals were rotten, we were still "locked" in for four weeks regardless. When I insisted that we will not be continuing due to obvious reasons, Reyna threatened to take me to collections.
Mairene called me 30 mins after my conversation with Reyna, and wanted to meet in person. She went to say, and I quote "I f@&$en hate this part of the business" (customer service?) and due to the high startup costs, they would not make any money if we quit after a week. (Not our problem?) Mairene insisted we were "locked" in for four weeks and she ended our conversation with, I quote, "see you in court".
Mairene is more concerned with maintaining a positive relationship with Fitness Quest 10 (I will talk to Todd) and getting positive reviews on social media (this was so bad that both Colleen and myself needed to write reviews), than with a paying customer who received rotten food.
Mairene's brash and aggressive attempt to solve this issue ignored the simple fact that paying customers were unsatisfied. This seems to be a trend in other negative Yelp reviews.
Mairene personally defamed me on a public forum, this was very unprofessional. My tone was stern and matter of fact. As a paying customer, it is my right to hold companies and services to the standards in which they were advertised.
Mairene, this is directly to you. You did not tell Reyna to "call it quits with you guys". Both you and Reyna insisted we were "locked" in for four weeks even though our food was rotten. At no point in our conversations did you tell me we were out of our contract. Although it was not "my idea" to just pay for the consultation fees (which you advertised as "free" FYI); it will satisfy us. And like I told you on the phone, should there be any further issues with my credit card companies or collection agencies, legal actions will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted so desperately to support local so Iām sorry for the review but I has to be said. These are the worst meal prep meals Iāve ever had. I chose to buy a few because their website says you can pick up in person! Amazing, sign me up to walk in last-minute and just choose a few of what theyāre offering.
I bought 5 meals for $62 and change. First thing hit me was how empty most of the coolers were. There were 6 meal selections total. Not what I expected if they state online they offer meal preps as a āwalk inā type service as I had used a similar service while living in Denver.
These meals are the strangest combinations (asparagus with oatmeal anyone?) and the worst tasting/texture. Every chicken meal I had (3 out of 5) were unbearably dry, in the buffalo chicken meal even the rice was so dry it fell apart hitting the plastic container with the saddest of sounds. The chicken teriyaki was served with spring mix salad and walnuts, one tiny thing of teriyaki sauce so I hope you like dry salad cause the chicken soaked up every ounce it could get of moisture. I also had an oatmeal/egg white meal and the oatmeal was absolute glue, so sticky, and again served with some random veg on top.
I pay for meal prep to have healthy/diverse meals, not the same 5 vegetables as sides with chicken all week. Super disappointed in the meal quality, lack of selection and lack of cohesion of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid this company. Unethical ownership and ever increasing prices for tiny, basic meals. They left a very sick dog without any food after ignoring very polite instructions, multiple times. The slightest tone of frustration in my voice somehow sent āMaiā into an emotional breakdown, and she hung up the phone, canceling the account without any warning or heads up whatsoever. Nobody was vulgar. Nobody was yelling. Nobody said a single rude word. Nothing happened. I now have a dog with brain cancer and nothing to eat. I should point out that this came after telling them at least 25 times that they have ābeen amazingā throughout the year and a half weāve been at this. I am now livid, and offended beyond belief at the unprofessional behavior I just witnessed. There are much cheaper Meal Prep services out there who arenāt going to bail without prior notice just because they sense some frustration in your tone. Iām very careful about how I speak, and the words that I say, so being accused of mistreating someone when I didnāt, is incredibly offensive to me because itās not grounded in...
