Walked into an empty place except for 1 table already eating. Waited at the counter to even be acknowledged. Someone comes from the back from washing dishes. No greeting, just, what can I get for you? I ordered the $10 bean and cheese burrito w sour cream comes out to almost $13, and I still threw $1 tip. She just started speaking Spanish . Don't know if it was to me her ear bud or some little girl running around the dining room asking if they were closed yet. It's 9:15 pm . They close tonight at 10, its a Saturday night. I have been there for 15 minutes . If you can't roll a burrito in 15 minutes with the 1 table that's already served, you suck. I just left. Long day of work , happy that I don't give my customers the same crappy service. Didn't even want my money back. I didn't want to have a conversation with an employee who doesn't wash their hands and chats on her earpiece when they need to do better. Horrible first and lasting impressions. Just fed up w crappy service in spots. If she didn't wash her hands, who's to say the cook does either. Gnarls Barclay "crazy" playing in this darkened eatery. They share a wall w an open doorway w the sushi spot next door. Someone who worked there and held uo 6 fingers to them ordering, I guess, not sure. Maybe their order was more important than my $14 for a bean, cheese w sour cream burrito. Luckily, there are better, faster, less expensive taco shops everywhere here in San Diego. I'm just saying there are waaaaay better options than this place to give your money to. Just...
Read moreUPDATE: Since my first visit I have come back to brothers a handful of times. Unfortunately they have made my order wrong a few of those times. I'd just like to say that your cashiers would probably hear customers better if you weren't BLASTING music at full volume. My most recent visit, which prompted this update, is because I asked for no pico on my food. Something simple, right? Even the ticket said NO PICO, yet when I arrived at home and unpacked my food, there was pico all over the place. Overall not a good experience the last few times coming here.
Flautas, Flautas, Flautas! The most underrated taco shop food in all of San Diego - though most places don't make them, Brothers does! Their flautas are amazing! I was so happy to that they make them, and make them right! (I've seen places try and pass off rolled tacos as flautas before) I've also had their Hawaiian burrito, which was also very good. This is the best taco shop in Normal Heights...
Read moreI hate wasting my time eating places but man was this bad. This was the first and last time I come here. First, people shouldn’t review places if they have no idea what good Mexican food is. It’s misleading and you’re just ruining peoples days by inaccurately rating this place’s food.
Second, if you are charging people $18 for a burrito, I damn well expect you to write on the menu what is inside the burrito ACCURATELY. I got the brothers burrito and no where do you mention that’s burrito has a ton of onions and bell pepper. I don’t even finish my food because it was so unappetizing. This was hands down the worst burrito I’ve had in many years. The meat was unseasoned and the salsas even tasted like they were missing salt. The best tasting part was likely the tortilla. It was an embarrassing showing for...
