Nestled within the enchanting **Lost Forest** of the **San Diego Zoo**, the **Treetops Bistro** is a hidden gem for foodies seeking both nourishment and breathtaking views. Here's why it deserves a spot on your culinary map: 1. **Spectacular Setting**: Imagine dining amidst multilevel decks, surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle rustling of leaves. The floor-to-ceiling windows frame the forest canopy, creating an intimate and serene atmosphere. 2. **Grab-and-Go Delights**: The menu at Treetops Bistro offers a delightful mix of **specialty sandwiches**, **fresh salads**, and **soul-warming soups**. Whether you're exploring the zoo or simply need a peaceful pause, their "grab-and-go" style meals hit the spot. 3. **Kid-Friendly Options**: Families are well taken care of here. The kids' a la carte choices ensure that even our little explorers leave with happy bellies. 4. **Vegan and Gluten-Free**: Treetops Bistro caters to diverse palates. Vegans and those with gluten sensitivities can savor their meals without compromise. 5. **Nature's Symphony**: As you savor your sandwich or sip on soup, listen closely—the forest birds provide a soothing soundtrack. It's a symphony of flavors and melodies. 6. **Unwind with a View**: After a morning of animal encounters, treat yourself to a leisurely lunch at Treetops. The private waterfall adds a touch of magic to your meal. In summary, if you seek a culinary escape that marries nature's beauty with delectable bites, venture to the **Treetops Bistro**. It's where the forest whispers its secrets and your taste buds dance in delight.

Quite a good selection of prepared sandwiches, fruits, yogurts, charcuterie boards and salads. They make fresh sandwiches on the spot and serve mac and cheese. Great seating next to the walking bridge, restrooms nearby.

French ham sandwich was good but turkey club wrap was really bad. However both are too expensive. 2 sandwiches, 1 wrap with 3 small chip bags=$52? No way.

So happy with this experience! I'm on a low carb diet, and wasn't sure what I could eat. The menu was full of things like spaghetti and meatballs, gyros, wraps, etc. I asked the server if I could just have some meatballs and gyro meat since I'm avoiding grains. She didn't bat an eyelash, just started down the line with my food container, and let me pick and choose whatever I wanted. So extremely helpful! Thank you, Treetops Cafe, for being so accommodating! I didn't feel like a burden or that "annoying customer" one tiny bit. You saved my lunch, my diet, and made my tummy so happy with delicious food. My friend says the pizza was delicious and the customer service was...

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. Shared a salad and appetizer with my partner. The quality was above and beyond what one would expect from food in a zoo, and the cocktail my partner ordered was also delicious. We sat outside on the porch surrounded by plants and water features.

Price-wise, it was comparable to what you'd pay outside of the zoo for a similar meal. A tad more expensive than the typical chicken-tenders-and-hot-dog cafes within the park... those are of course overpriced so if you're going to buy food at the zoo I highly recommend splurging a bit and going here. The food, service, and ambiance...
