This will be a multi day stay at this Worldmark facility and I will update & modify my review until we leave in 2 weeks (February 25 to March 9). No problems at check in. They advertised there was wine & cheese on the 7th floor from 4-5, but when we went up at 4:30, nobody was there and no wine or food...very strange to say the least. Be aware there is no curbside same level entry on Spruce St, you must schelp every thing up a series of steps and into the few carts they have. There is a rear entrance with ADA ramp, but nobody mentioned it. Parking is Valet only @ $20.00 a day (with in & put privileges), so we will look for some options. Day 3 and we have been parking on the east side of Sixth St. it may be challenge if to find an open spot mid day, but in the early evening spots seem to be available just across the street. I was concerned about leaving the car overnight, but so far, so good. San Diego ordinances requires you move the car ever 72 hours. Room is very large (bedroom & living room). Kitchen is small and they don’t expect their guests to cook much (but we do). Only a two burner cook top which will barely boil a pot of water!), microwave and full size fridge in a galley style kitchen with a 2-3 person dining room table. Cooking & prep area is limited. Bedroom is spacious & Bathroom sink area is separate from shower & toilet . Shower is good size, but way too mirrors in the shower room. Not much counter space at bathroom sink, which is in the bedroom! Closet space is generous as is the dresser. Beware of the WiFi here as it boots you off as soon as your done surfing the Internet or checking your email. On your smart phones & older iPads. You will need to check your settings each time to make sure you are connected (even if you have Auto Join on). Infrastructure: The rooms are nice with modern amenities, but they did not upgrade the windows (original single pane type & old style latches), the floor joists squeak (very obvious from the activities above us) and the plumbing needs help. The old windows allow for the airport take off noise to infiltrate the room easily (we face to the south so the airport is not too far away). Rooms on the north facing side might be somewhat quieter. Laundry: No in room washer & dryer like most other modern Worldmark facilities, but they have two washers & dryers in the basement that cost $1.50 per load. You would think for what they charge for a room or what you get for your points that they would provide them at no cost, but that is not the Wyndham style. Construction: This is a common event at almost all Worldmark facilities that we have stayed in, so it was not surprising to have it here too and just below our balcony. Workers are there from 9:30 to 4 or 5 and the saw they use is on and off during the day. Oh well, just our luck to have it close to our room! And then we see they are upgrading the WiFi in all rooms and they may need access to do some work...lucky so far we have not been disturbed by this activity. Cable TV: The number of channels available is limited, but all the basics are covered. Problem with some channels is the reception...I mean this is cable after all (I assume they are not using Dish or something similar), but several of the stations have poor quality and/or poor reception and this is a pain!

Stayed her last week for our 3rd time (and perhaps our last). You can't beat the location, walking distance to Balboa Park. The service was good for the most part, but the concierge service is always trying to get you to go attend a timeshare sales pitch. We happen to be there because it is one of the properties in our timeshare. It doesn't matter if you own their timeshare - they are always trying to upsell you. They can be a bit (or a lot) annoying. (I don't expect my comments here to change anything about the way they operate -- just sayin" -- its the nature of the timeshare beast) Our room and view was great as its always been but the place itself is really outdated. They didnt insulate buildings back then the way they do now and the sound travels through the walls quite freely. We could hear noise upstairs, from the hall, and outside (single pane windows). I absolutely hate that as a time share owner I have to pay an additional $20 bucks to park my car -- and fugging worse is that I cannot park it myself but have to rely on their valet. The parking lot is literally right outside the backdoor, but no -- you cant just go get in your car and take off -- you need to request the valet bring it around. I'm not sure what retail guest pay to stay here but by may calculations it costs us over $300 per night via our timeshare. My wife and I have been using AirBnb from time to time and I really believe we can get a better stay elsewhere at a much more affordable price. PS... recommend - do not spend money on a timeshare.

Located between Bankers Hill and Hillcrest area across from Balboa Park. Location was not bad. The route to downtown was a straight shot down 6th Street. 5 minute drive or about 40 minute walk. We did both. Local eateries available in the immediate area. This location was super convenient because of the weather. It rained cats and dogs and all the flooding ended in the downtown area. The hotel sits in an elevated part of town so that worked out great for us. Rooms were as described, they were nice. It's a very old building and you can tell that huge efforts have been made to keep it updated . The service was spectacular, everyone made us feel at home. I wish the service was like this at all hotels. We enjoyed our stay very much with every amenity met. Some free parking available on the street but valet was also available and reasonably priced for a metropolitan city. Check in was easy. Gave our name, showed our id and a CC then made our way to the concierge. Downside was no pool and no indoor restaurant. I will give em an E for effort and an A for Almost trying to make up for no pool with daily special events. They really did provide great service though. There is a very nice patio area on the top floor, that offers a great view of the city. Great for hanging out. Another downside was a funky odor we picked up on arrival. The smell was a musky seawater smell. I'm not sure if it cleared up or we went nose blind but it was there on the first day. All in all we would definitely be back. We had a good stay.

We had the pleasure of staying 7 nights at Inn at the Park in San Diego. We really liked the accommodations and location. It’s in a nice area of San Diego, adjacent to Balboa Park and close proximity to many popular local destinations. ||The staff was pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We did not get badgered to attend a time share presentation, which I fully expected and planned on firmly saying no. But it was a nice surprise that they did not even ask (however we did not use the concierge desk- so maybe that’s why). ||Valet parking is $25 per day with unlimited in-out access. There is street parking but seemed to be lacking free parking spots during our week. So honestly the valet is way more convenient and we didn’t have to worry about getting a ticket or towed. The valet staff were very helpful and friendly and even knew our name and vehicle by day two. They appreciated that we tipped each time, departing and arriving at the valet. ||The desk staff also were great throughout the week. They gave us a treat bag upon check out with snacks and bottled water for our ride home. I thought that was a very nice touch! ||The room was comfortable and clean. Yes the floors are squeaky but the building is almost 100 years old. They did a great job refurbishing the rooms - the decor was eclectic with an early 1900s|Hollywood style vibe. The kitchen was perfect for the week - it was great that we could have some meals at “home” during the week. The bed and room temperature were comfy. ||We had a studio that sleeps 4. There was a king bed and sofa containing two twin beds. The sofa couch is super long- probably 8 ft or so. The two twin sofa beds come out from opposite ends of the couch- leaving a gap in between the twin beds. The twin sofa beds cannot be pushed together to make a bigger bed. Our teenage son found the couch by itself (with couch cushions and not made into a bed) to be more comfortable than the sofa mattress. So for the week he used most of the couch with sheets and blankets but still had room on the other end for one person to sit. ||There is coin laundry in the basement that totals $3.25 for wash and dry. The front desk will make change if needed. ||There is a coffee station near the elevator with coffee, cream, sugar, and pumps of flavors. My husband and son enjoyed the coffee every morning. ||We checked out the rooftop and it was nice. ||The hotel is great for adults or families with teens or older. There is no pool so families with younger kids might want to consider someplace more kid-friendly. Overall, this place perfectly fit our needs for a family of three (mom, dad, &...

You reserve rooms pay for that certain room Drive 8 hours to go to San Diego and the room isn't even ready , get to the room it's not even the room we reserved and paid for. They told us while they are rented out the other room so that's what they have I was so peeved. Also the valet driver he drives your cars like a maniac I was waiting out in the parking lot I saw him take a person's car haul ass fly up the curve the driveway barely miss me jumped out of the car and walks away don't even say I'm sorry for almost running you down. Needless to say I went to go have a talk with him tell him he would not be driving my car after I seen what he did with another person car so there was no way he was going to keep the keys to my car he said we have to keep the keys I told him he better hand my keys over right now it took a manager to come for that man to release my car keys he's real arrogant thought he was Billy badass to talk to a woman that way sorry not this woman , no man will ever tell me that I can't have what is mine. The manager talk to me try to call me down I told him all this is ridiculous after driving 8 to 9 hours to get to this place you don't have my room you gave it to someone else Your Valet drivers drives like a maniac almost runs me down jacks up someone's car I'm checking out tomorrow. he try to charge us for 4 nights that we had there I said if you gave me the room I had reserved then I'll stay if not we're leaving. Next morning I got up to check out with my husband manager said oh we cannot credit your account for the nights that you're not staying I told that man at that time he will or he will give us our room that we had paid for needless to say I didn't want to stay there and I'm sure they didn't want me there after all that stuff the night before. We were so happy to get out of that place too bad because it was the manager and the valet driver who made it a very unpleasant place to be at, and that's a shame because it's a really nice place . but that's okay so many beautiful places in San Diego to stay and with great people that treat you well. My husband and I found a beautiful place to stay in at Shelter Island. I'll give you heads up on it you would never think Best Western Palms Shelter Island on the marina it was so beautiful with all the boats and Yachts right from your door , and nice little Cottages and rooms amazing...
