Nice place if you want to visit cats. Guard your heart if you're coming here and find a cat you'd like to adopt.
We went last week. Fell in love with a kitten we were told has no applications in. I stood in front of the register as our time ended and immediately submitted one. Emailed back and forth with whiskers without borders where I confirmed that I wanted to adopt the kitten that I filled out an application for. 5 emails exchanged in one day. They're excited in their replies. Everything is all green flags. They stopped replying as business hours ended on Friday, no big deal. Saturday I'm checking my emails and I have no message from them - decide to check again on Monday since they only seem to engage during business hours during the week. They emailed Sunday morning asking if they should send a payment link. I reply on Monday yes of course - I've already emailed several times committing to adopting this kitten. I get told sorry we adopted the kitten I applied for and another to someone else yesterday, is there another cat I'd like? I said wait, I was told this kitten wasn't bonded. They confirmed the kitten wasn't bonded they just liked to pair them off for the other. She writes "it seems to be a race lately on these adoptions". Wtf.
If you do decide to come here and fall in love, just know you need to hound them to get a payment link. This was something I didn't know I need to hound them for and did everything I could to advance the adoption in good faith.
There is another cat lounge in SD that needs support and people should consider if this one is just a...
Read moreWe had a wonderful girls night visiting Whiskers and Wine Bar! I have visited many cat cafes/lounges and this is one of my favorites due to their upstairs Catio! Most cafes/lounges are in shopping centers and do not have the luxury of such a cool feature. I love how secure the facility is by having multiple doors to keep the cats safe and from getting outside.
You can tell that the owners carefully thought out their space and the thing I appreciate the most is that you do not smell the litter boxes. I have been to a couple of cafes that smelled horribly and this is coming from someone that not only has a cat sanctuary in ATX, but I have had cats my entire life and you never smell litter box in my home or in my facility.
Whiskers and Wine is a great place to unwind and spend time with beautiful kitties in need of a fur-ever home. I understand that some people do not get the concept of a cat cafe, but in order for them to provide such an incredible service to animals, they still have to pay the bills to house and feed the cats. The biggest take away is that cage free facilities are much better for the cats than when they are kept in cages at the local shelter or other animal rescues.
Thank you for a great time and for all that you do to help...
Read moreThis is truly a 5-star place 😸 I live in LA and have wanted to visit since they were first opened. It's taken me this long and still exceeded my expectations! The staff are super nice and down to earth, the peach "meowmosa" was amazing, and the sweet potato fries were delicious and a huge portion.
The entire place is really well-made for cats and has the most pleasant, relaxing vibe. Obviously I came for the cats, but I'd honestly hang out here even without cats! The open air upper portion was warm but still quite nice with a lovely view. It was so charming to see the cats sprawled out, sleeping in their little beds or being playful. They seem really comfortable and happy which made the whole thing extra sweet. I wanted to kick back for hours with a couple drinks but also play with the adorable cats! Oh the dilemma! How nice to have such a place. Each kitty was a unique character and the whole experience was so soothing and fun, which is just what I needed. Absolutely worth a visit and worth supporting such a...
