I purchased several items from this vendor earlier today, including a small container of pickled vegetables. When I tried it, it had no flavor at all—just bland NOT pickled vegetables tossed in an unseasoned sauce. When I tried to return it, three employees responded as if I were unreasonable, insisting, “That’s how it’s supposed to be” and “That’s what we eat" -telling me no refund or exchange. They also told me that in 11 years, no one had ever complained. Just because others didn’t speak up doesn’t mean the product meets every customer’s expectations.

I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable—just a refund or exchange for a $10 item that didn’t meet basic expectations. The employees’ dismissive attitude and lack of training only made the situation worse. It wasn’t until they contacted the owner that a refund was finally approved.

Amazing gem in the neighborhood. Fresh, homemade miso and other Japanese fermented products.

I ordered a grilled salmon bento. You can tell they put a lot of heart into their food. Each item, especially the sides are delicate, flavorful and tasty. Also came with a nice cake dessert.

Cute little place in a residential area. I wouldn't have known if my friend who lives nearby didn't mention it. When she told me about the fresh natto, I had to go check it out. We got some miso and the turmeric drink. The probiotic amazake turmeric drink is interesting. It reminds me of Indian curry but it's slightly sweet from the fermentation.
