Update - Had the most amazing facial massage yesterday at In-Symmetry Spa (San Francisco Mission). Their new esthetician partner Studio Soothe is so unique, I've never had a facial that focused on massage before, was so cool to get an expert like Minette to do gua sha and other massage techniques to my face, head, neck, and shoulders. I was so relaxed after I immediately went to sleep so peacefully. This is such a perfect addition to my fave results-driven massage spa, now I can get facials and massages in one convenient place!

In-Symmetry is a gem of a spa in the mission. It’s easy to book appointments for facials/waxing, as well as their massages. The staff is super open to tailoring massages to fit your needs, from just wanting to relax and work out tension, to actual injury recovery. Janella, Jimmie, and JR are so knowledgeable and educate me when I have targeted pain. I cannot recommend JR more! He approaches massage with such an educated whole body approach that really works. He’ll do stretches, or release tension behind my arms that I didn’t realize was causing my neck pain - it’s like seeing a chiropractor without any risk. I always feel incredibly relaxed AND have my issues resolved after seeing him! And he’s super kind and personable - I sometimes struggle to voice my preferences for pressure during massages (recovering people-pleasure here!) and he is excellent at checking in, as well as super responsive if something changes throughout.

In-symmetry itself is also super easy to book (and reschedule, because working parent life is real), and the space is lovely. I’ve been coming here for years! The owner has always been super responsive if there are issues, like a last minute illness or scheduling miscommunication.

Parking can be tough, but there’s a bike loop right out front. And sometimes I stroll over to Tartine Manufactory afterwards for a post-massage...
