Amami Sushi is a cool new spot that has a great, Japanese dining experience. The simple, modern design is refreshing and inviting, creating a comfortable atmosphere. loved the by the window seating with the view on Geary. The service is incredibly attentive, with staff going out of their way to ensure a you get a good dining experience. The only downside was that a some menu items were missing during (no sake😕), but that didn’t detract from the overall meal. The Omakase is a must-try, showcasing an impressive selection of fresh, different variety of fish, making your taste buds explode. The “Melted in the Mouth” roll is also a standout - absolutely delicious and living up to its name with each bite. “Dragon” can be skipped though. Always a great experience at Amami, at any location. Happy that this SF location opened just a few mins from where I live! The omakase is as fresh and tender as I've had each time, portion sizes were large and were not sacrificed. Added an extra seared toro with uni which was mouth watering. Amami roll was good though not wow'd, will try another selection next time for variety. Chicken katsu and karaage had a reeeaal nice satisfying crisp to it. Def will be back!

I was told to check this sushi restaurant out because I very picky when it comes to eating raw fish. The hamachi was delectable buttery fresh just the way I like it. The service was immaculate the food was divine. The ambience was peaceful. The feng shui of the restaurant makes you feel like you are at home. I highly recommend the establishment to anyone who cares about clean food properly prepared. This is a must go to restaurant if you enjoy sushi. 10 out of 5 stars is my rating.
