Very confused by this place: I tried to visit a little after 7pm for the first time but when I got to the counter to order, they said they were closed and then turned around and turned off their menu sign. Their hours say they are open to 8pm and there were a variety of people sitting and waiting for food (or I assume so, no one had food and they all were sitting in silence). Other reviewers mention this issue to -- that they close early or randomly when it seems like they dont want to serve a customer. The vibe inside the shop was very bizarre and felt very off. I'm not sure what the 6 men sitting waiting were going to all do when they got their food (assuming they were really waiting for food) - do they all get kicked out because they are closed 1 hour before their posted hours? They should adjust their hours if they really don't want to be open until 8 or they should honor those hours. Even so, the vibe of this place gave me a deep...

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been here twice over the course of two weeks and haven’t been able to eat anything. The first time they closed an hour early. The second time I came in they were open and told me cash only. After looking at their menu for two minutes, the lady says sorry we can’t process your order because our iPad isn’t working. I don’t understand how a restaurant can have such high ratings with terrible service. The place was not busy, they looked tired- I’m going to assume that they didn’t feel like serving us food so they kicked us out. Terrible customer service. I won’t be back- Save yourself the time and energy and don’t go here if you are hungry you’ll just be disappointed.

Maybe they actually serve customers during lunch time, but be careful...

I give them all five stars, although it's not a fancy schmancy place, I felt comfortable waiting for my order. The guy at the counter and the cook were both nice and friendly. When I took a first bite of the super al pastor burrito, I knew it was special. Even though the first bite was mostly the top of the tortilla, some rice and salsa, I could smell the smokiness coming right through. The meat was flavorful, the beans as well, and rice was perfectly cooked. Through every bite I enjoyed how flavorful and smoky this burrito tasted. This is is the best neighborhood burrito place, hands down, and I've tried every single one in the Richmond district. Next time , I'm trying the birria...

So happy to have a new Mexican food option in the Richmond. The Mission district is so rich with options, it has always made me envious. This is as cool as it gets, a small family starting their own business, trying to make their way...and their food is DELICIOUS! This isn't a crank 500 people through in an hour, robot line, you get personalized service at the register and in the kitchen. Everything I've tried has been outstanding and tastes like going to a friend's house for a meal. For me, I am so excited to finally have a place to get a breakfast burrito (or chilaquiles or huevos rancheros)! Look forward to spending many meals, for many years at our new neighborhood restaurant!!

Customer service was spectacular! Felt like home! You are able to seat yourself. We went early afternoon on Friday before the crowd! We had the Quesobirria tacos. It came with 4 tacos for $23 (which is a bit steep), but this was the BEST birria tacos I’ve had to date! Lots of meat and very flavorful! The fajitas were delicious! Steak and veggies had great flavor and delivered steaming hot! Beans were a bit runny, rice was fluffy but bland. We also ordered a side of guac & chips. Guac was a bit bland for my liking. However, we will definitely be back!

Spent 5 years living in SoCal (1 year in SD) and have spent the rest of my life living in the bay area. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at in the bay area, and is even really good for San Diego Mexican food. Que Chulada has the best quesabirria I have had, and the street tacos, burritos, and Posole (only on weekends!) are incredible. Great service and friendliness by the family who runs it, and even better food! Must try place in the Richmond district.
