The Food My friend really likes crabs, and we discovered PPQ Dungeness Island while searching. The restaurant had a la carte items as well as set menus, so we decided on the Crab Dinner for 2. It came with a variety of items. Imperial Rolls Cabbage Salad with Chicken Roasted Crab House Garlic Noodles Fried Banana w/Ice Cream Sizzling Charbroiled Beef (a la carte order) The Imperial Rolls are like a fried roll with a dipping sauce. It came as a pair with the Cabbage Salad with Chicken. Both were good flavored and delicious. Next came the House Garlic Noodles, which were simple, but still tasted good. We also ordered the Sizzling Charbroiled Beef to have some meat with the noodles. The main course was the Roasted Crab, which was buttery and delicious. It ends with Fried Banana w/ Ice Cream, which I was slightly disappointed with. The fried banana wasn't that good, and the ice cream tasted better. A bit of a sour note to a good meal.

The Miscellaneous The restaurant is on one of the main streets of SF, so come prepare to look for parking. (decent amount of street parking at least) It is a good sized restaurant, though seating is still a bit limited. The setting has an interesting vibe and decor, very typical of a Chinese restaurant. You can reserve ahead of time, but you can also try your luck with walk in. The service was not bad, courteous, with reasonable time to order and time to serve. As mentioned before, the menu has a la carte as well as set items. They also have a good variety of a la carte items. The price though is a bit expensive. But it is a good place to try out if you are looking for some...

Came on literally one of the rainiest nights San Francisco has ever seen and still found the restaurant to be pretty full - must be a good sign! Reservations definitely recommended.

We began our meal with two appetizers - the imperial rolls and the Vietnamese carpaccio. The carpaccio blew the imperial rolls out of the water and then some! Marinated in a combination of fish sauce, thai basil, peanuts, and sliced red onions, then garnished with fried onion pieces and fresh lemon, PPQ's version of carpaccio is literally the best I've ever had. Honestly, no Italian version can even come close! The imperial rolls, on the other hand, were very textbook and nothing to write home about.

For our meal, we opted for the 4 person banquet. Plate after plate seemed to get better. The smoky pork was brought over on a sizzling plate. Though thin, the pieces were charred nicely and went perfectly with the deeply caramelized onions. I also loved the deep fried soft shelled crab and the shitake steamed sea bass which as always, won me over with its flaky and buttery texture. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the house special roasted crab. We definitely won the lottery with our crab as it was a young adult. Shell was considerably thin but meat was full and plenty! It was soooo good!

The garlic noodles were also very good. Noodles had a nice chewiness to them and the serving was also very generous. Dessert is fried bananas with 2 flavors of ice cream -...

One word to describe this experience: impeccable. I mean it when I say the service, freshness, delivery of the food and quality were all impeccable. It was not what we expected. We were leaving Santa Rosa heading back to Palo Alto and decided to stop into this place, which has been on my list for ages. I wish I had visited earlier.

We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. There was an ample amount of parking and thankfully the restaurant wasn't closed. We ordered the crab for two. It came with the garlic noodles, dungeness Crab, Papaya salad, egg rolls and the fried banana dessert. Not going to lie the table next to us ordered the Peppered Wings, it smelled fabulous and we asked for an order. It was crispy, juicy with a nice kick. I'm so glad we ordered it. The egg rolls were crunchy, piping hot and delicious. It was a good size portion as we could not finish the salad. The Dungeness Crab for 2 was a big size and we managed to clean it up with the garlic noodles given we were about to burst.

The server did an excellent job constantly refilling our drinks, emptying our bowl or crab shells and checking in on us. The service was wonderful and we are looking forward to returning...
