La Sarrasine - A Delightful Culinary Experience!
La Sarrasine in San Francisco is an absolute gem! I recently visited and was blown away by their delicious offerings.
First, let me rave about their banana crepes. These crepes are simply amazing! The bananas were perfectly ripe, and the crepe itself was light, fluffy, and melted in my mouth. Drizzled with just the right amount of Nutella chocolate and topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, it was a heavenly experience.
And the margherita pizza? Perfection! The crust was light and crispy, providing the ideal base for the fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors and textures.
The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Whether you're in the mood for a sweet treat or a savory meal, La Sarrasine is the place to be. I can't recommend it...
Read moreI wanted to love this place since reading a review about it in the Chronicle. I miss the Mission creperie, Ti Couz, which had the best buckwheat crepes. The crepes at La Sarrasine are on the dry side. They are not fluffy nor springy in texture. Crispy edges are great, but in this case, the crispiness extends throughout and results in a rigid and dry crepe. We had two types of crepes and both were the same (dry). Additionally, the crepe dishes lack balance. They could have benefited from a small side salad -- spring mix or arugula -- for some acidity and brightness. Beyond the crepes, La Sarrasine offers hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, frites, onion soup, kabobs, and wraps. We got the baba ganoush (which was good) and a side of frites (limp and soggy). The decor is cute. Service is neutral -- not great, but not terrible. In my opinion, the crepes are lacking and this is what it...
Read moreVery disappointing, unwelcoming experience. Went on a quiet Saturday afternoon hoping for dessert and hot drinks. I asked the owner/server if they had non-dairy milk: “No.” Ok, fine…my companion asked what kind of teas they had. The owner: “We don’t serve any hot drinks after 3 because we don’t want people to sit and just get drinks.” The restaurant was almost empty, so it was quite shocking to be denied something on the menu - he clearly didn’t want us there. What a shame, as we likely would have returned had we had a more...
