The first couple times I went, I loved Cajun House and was excited since it was one of the better Boiling Crab replicates in the city. Went again 5 months after my last visit and had a Groupon deal so I was pretty excited. Ordered a bunch of food:
Cajun Fries - these were much less spicier than I remember so I was a little let down Garlic Noodles - pretty standard, pretty good Crawfish - ordered 3 lbs in the medium and explosive House Cajun sauce (the explosive had corn in it). The explosive wasn't super spicy after a few crawfish, but it def gets to you later on. Since the corn had been soaking in the sauce for awhile, when my friend bit into it, she nearly died because it was so spicy. Shrimp - ordered 3lbs in the medium House Cajun and Lemon Butter. Was disappointed since the shrimp was old (shells were difficult to take off) so eventually I got too annoyed to peel and abandoned two shrimp and that's really sad because I'm a huge shrimp lover. These had typical andouille sausage added into them that were very yummy. Clams - ordered 2lbs, one in medium House Cajun and one in Lemon Butter. The clams were much bigger than I recall so was very happy about this order. Bread - always order the bread! You'll love that you can lather it in the sauces. Oysters - don't order, they're not worth it.
So a star downgrade because it wasn't as good as I remember and I wish there was an option to mix all the sauces together to make one amazing super sauce. But I am curious about...

Read moreCame here on a Groupon. We arrived around 6:30pm and the place was pretty empty. This was good because 10 minutes after we were seated, the lines started forming. Geez.
We got the dungeness crab (in garlic butter), 1 pound of shrimp (in medium cajun) with 2 corns and 6pc sausages. Oh, and garlic noodles.
Noodles were meh. PPQ had better. Dungeness crab was pretty big, they charged us $35 for it. Not too bad. The garlic butter was very garlicky and very buttery. Crab itself had a lot of meat and was very satisfying.
The cajun shrimp was good... at first. The sauce was very salty and became very heavy as we kept eating. That was the only downside. The shrimp were very large and meaty. In retrospect, we probably should have put the corn in the garlic butter sauce. But the sausages were good in the cajun sauce.
Service was great. Waitresses came frequently to top off our water and change out the bucket for shells. Another downside is that there is only one bathroom and no sink outside for people...
