A little history: This entire park used to be the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Surrounding areas nearby were also four large cemeteries. The USF campus was Calvary Cemetery. The USCF Laurel Heights campus and areas surrounding was Laurel Hill Cemetery. In the 1930s, they moved all the bodies to Colma, CA, and anyone who was unclaimed was buried in a mass grave of 35,000 people in Cypress Lawn at a spot called Laurel Hill Garden. Facilities include a playground, multi-use sports fields with bleachers, tennis courts, an indoor pool, and a dedicated dog park opposite the main Rossi Park entrance on Edward Street.
